Oh fundj, your pasta looks lovely. I admit I didn't recognize the vol-AU-vont (looked at the pics first) as it was a smidge flatter than I'm used to :) never tried making them myself, wouldn't even have thought dared to try.

Stir Fry looks lovely as well, was that from this site or a book?

Thanks Tarasis, it was nice.  Here's the recipe in case you'd like to try it.

BEEF & BLACK BEAN STIR FRY  Serves 4
2 tsp cornflour
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp black bean sauce
2 tsp sambal oelek
2 tbsp kecap manis
¼ cup chicken stock (used beef)
1 ½ tbsp peanut oil
750g beef rump steak, trimmed, very thinly sliced
1 medium brown onion, cut into wedges
1 capsicum, cut into 2cm pieces, I used a combo of green & red
1 garlic clove, crushed
2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, grated
100g cup mushrooms, sliced, I used a combo of shiitake and Swiss brown
3 spring onions, cut into 5cm lengths
rice to serve

Whisk cornflour and soy sauce in a jug until smooth. Stir in black bean sauce, chilli sauce, kecap manis and stock.

Heat a wok over medium-high heat. Add about 2 tsp oil. Swirl to coat. Cook beef, in small batches, for 1 to 2 mins or until browned. Transfer to a bowl.

Heat remaining oil in wok. Add brown onion. Stir-fry for 2 mins or until softened.
Add capsicum, and stir fry about 2 mins.
Add garlic and ginger, cook until capsicum is just tender.
Add mushrooms. Stir-fry for 2 mins or until softened.
Return beef and juices to wok. Add sauce mixture. Stir-fry for 2 to 3 mins  or until sauce boils and thickens.
Add springs onions, toss to combine. Serve.

Thank you Julie, I will def try this soon.

BTW have you ever tried Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef? If not this recipe is lovely and not spicy at all. We've done it twice now and it's been just right.

Kids and OH liked it. Miss 10 said she would love to try it with chicken instead.
I had left over pesto pasta from last night.

Followed by blueberry icecream.  Used frozen milk blocks

Cool :) Crispy Chilli Beef is really popular in the UK to the point where you can buy it at the supermarket for cooking or I guess more reheating. Works well with chicken as well.

Roast lamb tonight and all the bits to go with it. Termite will be used to make the mint sauce, cook the broccoli and cauliflower and to make the white sauce. I picked up some mangoes this morning so will probably have mango smoothies for after.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Tonight I made a really tasty Pesto Pasta with chicken & pumpkin.  I made the pesto in the TM but otherwise the oven was used.  The recipe has gone straight into my to do again file, it was so good.  :)
