No BB, it won't brown. There are Beef Rendang recipes around for the Thermomix though.
This
one on the forum
There's one in the Asian book and also in the EDC.
There's also
this
one on the forum from MF, a non-TMX version.

There is always Tenina's chicken/beef rending too. Best ever.

Potato pie tonight. I'm thinking about a different way to put the potato on top.

We had Tenina's summer lemon risotto with baked parmesan chicken that CC posted a while back. Mine doesn't look pretty but the chicken is really moist and tasty. It's just Mayo, parmesan and breadcrumbs. Here's the link cc posted

Thanks for the recipe suggestion JD and Gert. Tenina's chicken/beef rending looks good! I have it bookmarked for future. The packet rendang turned out watery (is it because the MC hole isn't big enough and steam gets trapped inside and dips back down?). I wonder if I'm doing something wrong because every curry I've attempted has turned out watery (though one did thicken afterwards and another I ended up reducing on the stove).
Back on topic. I'm making a low fat
Mac and Cheese
for dinner because I haven't been shopping.

The TMX does generally use less water than stove top cooking bluebear, for the very reason you stated. With such a small hole, evaporation is much less than with saucepans and frying pans. You will soon find yourself steering away from packet mixes and making your recipes from scratch.
