Indeed I was just wondering about Burger buns.

Last night we had Chicken Tikka Masalla with the new Tikka Paste. Missus loved it (indeed polished away about 2/3 of it) but I wasn't quite as sold.

Well it wasn't for dinner as we had these about 2 hours ago, but we are still full after having 3 each so I think we will give dinner a miss.  ;D

Anyway I'm quite chuffed as I made semi-dried tomatoes (in the oven, don't have a dehydrator) but they've turned out so nice.  They had finely chopped garlic and fresh thyme leaves, salt & pepper sprinkled on top before baking (took 4 hours on a very low oven).  I only made a half recipe to try, but am so impressed that I'm going to make more but this time I'm going to try baking in my Easy cook oven see how they go in there doing a double layer.  I also made the basil pesto.

So I combined some crushed garlic with some extra light olive oil, brushed over both sides of the bread, then baked in the oven for about 5 or so mins until crispy and golden. Spread with the pesto, topped with pieces of the toms, crumbled feta, torn basil leaves, salt & pepper and then a small drizzle of the extra light olive oil.  They were delicious, the nicest I've ever made.   My next step is to try making a ciabbata loaf.   ;D

i did cook JD it was awful. Yes, i tried a roast again in the slow cooker, dry and crumbly. more pie fillings  :)

Have you ever done a roast in the oven Uni ?  It sounds as if you really do want to succeed in making a lovely roast for your DH.
Do you have an Australian or English friend over there who could come in and help you master this problem you have?

last year my son was doing sunday roast dinners at his restaurant i would help and watch he every move :(

yes i have done in the oven

it must just be one of those things that  just not will work for me

after tonight  i have come to the decision not to try again

oh uni i dont know what it is with you and roasts but think its not a marriage made in heaven haha...keep at it and im sure one day you will surprise yourself...you must be doing something wrong somewhere and your just not seeing it!  We all have our problem recipes that are a bit of a hurdle!!

Your forte is obviously Italian food Uni so stick to what you know best and go out for the occasional roast dinner  ;)

Uni,
We do all our roast meat in the weber, can't go wrong also have a brilliant weber thermometer (should post on shopping thread as everyone should have one) it is wireless you put a skewer part in your piece of meat and set how you want it cooked on the other part which is kept in the kitchen, so you can see how hot the core temp is and it beeps when ready to rest.
I also agree with jD you are brilliant at other stuff so really does it matter
