A man of little words but actions say alot :)
My DH is quiet verbal when he enjoys a meal, and doesn't say much when he doesn't like it.

Good luck with the meeting DG, i hope the news is positive and you can start moving forward. We are having some problems with our DS at school at the moment and it's so emotionally draining.

The PC was scary the first few times I released the steam, but I've now figured out how to do it without getting our face or hands in the way so not so scared.

We had lamb curry cooked in the PC  - first meal from the PC and it was a huge success. I had bought a small leg of lamb and took the bone out, the meat fell apart after 40 mins and the dog loved the bone which still had quite a bit of meat on it. Probably cooked for a little long but wasn't following a recipe and guessed on the time.

You seem to have worked out your earlier problems with the PC Wonder. I am looking to replace my slow cooker and rice cooker with one machine and would like a PC too. After reading your previous posts I was a little concerned about having a similar experience. Still haven't decided between the Breville and the New Wave. Can't seem to find much in the way of differences other than price and local availability.

Twitterpated, the earlier problems certainly seemed to be attributable to the meat still being frozen in the centre. The meat had been left in my outside drinks fridge by MIL but no-one rembered to tell me about it, I didn't find it until I went to get a bottle of wine, DH & DS weren't 100% sure which day it was left so it was a very last minute decision to cook it up for dinner, it also wasn't a cut of meat we would normally use (quite fatty). After the additional cooking time the meat fell apart and most of the fat had also disintegrated - so all up a very good outcome. Dinner was only about 1hr late in the end and the meat didn't get thrown out which was my other option.

I was planning on getting the Breville but it seems that it doesn't have the delayed start functionality and you can't select the exact time for the slow cooking, there is either a 6 or 8 hour option - I think Obbie found this out? Also depending on where you are located there are a few sales where you get the stainless steel bowl thrown in for free. In Melbourne Matchbox had them on sale on the weekend.

Thanks for the info Wonder. Great to know about the differences between them. Based on this I think I will go for the New Wave too. I'm in Central Qld so will need to mail order as no-one in town has the Breville let alone the New Wave. Is the stainless steel insert instead of the non-stick or as well as?

The stainless steel bowl is as well as the non stick one, I was very impressed by the weith of the extra bowl and think it will be great to extra browning as I don't find the the non stick ones give quite the same finish to meat when browning.

Not ths time as I ddnt plan on making a meal!! ???

Went to a lovely food shop today, came away wanting to cook something, so as I had all the ingredients I just threw it together. I always keep dry pasta in the cupboard for very quick meals.  this would have been excellent with home made pasta, next time if its on the plan.

I know I should. But I'm just a bit scared of the effort lol. I have everything I need to start. Maybe tomorrow once I get all my jobs done (I said maybe ;) )
