Hally, Julie, the recipe for Jimmy's butter chicken that ws converted on here was different to the one we tried from the masterchef website last year. I think from memory he used some unusual spices that weren't inlcuded in the conversion. We tried it and I don't remember anyone asking for it again in our house so it mustn't have been better than the slow cooker one I normally use from the Taste forums. I'm going to try the Taste one in the PC next time but will try the ww one first. DH & i enjoy the one from the Indian cookbook but I don't think it in anyway resembles the butter chicken we have at any of the Indian restaurants in our area and the kids don't enjoy it.

I used to make the slow cooker one too a few years ago so I know which one you're talking about. I'll have a quick look for the original Jimmy's recipe then and see what I think. I'm pretty sure I have it on my laptop somewhere. Thanks Wonder.

Oh to find the perfect butter chicken, LOL
We are having beef bourginoun in the pc tonight with steamed carrots & mash potatoes. I dont have the exact ingredients for the beef , no bacon lardons but I am sure its going to be tasty. Plus I dont have enough mushrooms & shallots but using what I have.

This is the original recipe. I was sure we ended up with a couple of new spice packets in our pantry from this dish which my DH tracked down somewhere but apart from the mace and dried fenugreek leaves ther is nothing else we wouldn't ordinarily have. When I get home I'll need to have a look at those packets.

Thanks Wonder. To get the perfect butter chicken would be good. The one Julie cooked looked really nice. In the UK the Indian restaurants make superb butter chicken & tandori. Never found it to be as good here.
To find the perfect tandori without using a special oven would be good too.

I really don't think you could ever recreate the tandoori exactly. I might have to give Jimmy's another go as it looks pretty good and I'll also give the WW one a go with just thigh fillets and see how I go.

Marinated steaks. DH is making fried rice from "For Food's Sake" to go with it.
And maybe some kind of pudding for dessert?? It has become "pudding weather" here again

Slow cooked casserole that consisted of meat, onions and mushrooms from the freezer. Plus vegetables of course...including popcorn cauliflower.
