We are having smoked salmon fish cakes with salad of rocket, grape tomatoes, avocado and asparagus.
This has just  reminded me that I haven defrosted my fish cakes  :o

They sound yummy MF, I'll have a look at your recipe and put them on next week's menu :D I've never cooked with smoked salmon :-))
I hope your cakes defrost in time for dinner :o

We're having slow cooked beef and barley casserole with potato and steamed vegetables :)

It sounds delicious. Was confused when you said you hoped my cakes defrosted in time.
I was thinking I haven' baked cakes and put them in the freezer ???
Thought you had the wrong person and then realized fish "cakes" LOL   ;D

We are having steak, trying a new marinade recipe. Salad, steamed poatoes with a creamy mushroom sauce. I am thinking the marinade will tenderse the meat  as it has lemon juice & red wine vinegar, using  rump  steak.

It should do Hally with the acid in the vinegar and lemon but you wouldn't want to marinate for too long or it may cook.
Would be interested to hear how it cooks and tastes  :)

The recipe says up to an hour, so cooking  at 5.45 & just done them.

So long as some enjoyed it. It's hard to please everyone in a big family especially with new dishes.
You can send the leftovers to Mindarie as I know a big person here who would love it

ha ha mf we never have left overs with dh around::) I'm trying to introduce a new recipe each week not much success with the little people but I don't give up that easily, the kids know the rules eat dinner or I'll see you at breakfast ;D
