My story is fairly similar to others. A friend of mine was raving about the machine and I was sold on it after reading this forum and other blogs. I love the fact that you can prepare healthy food with minimal effort. My consultant was passionate about the machine and food but was let down a little by the food she had to prepare at the demo. We had pasta which wasn't that flavoursome. I already love cooking so for me it was more about it's potential rather than the taste of the food at the demo. I've only had mine 2 weeks and have used it several times a day and have adapted our family favourites to suit as well as using EDC. I made the mushroom risotto for a friend with a few personal tweaks and it was great. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice on the forum. It's certainly made adapting recipes a breeze.

I would encourage Not sure Yet to take up QuirkyCookings fantastic offer and see it's full potential.

Well I wish you would - I'd love that!!!!  ;D

I'm coming to Perth in February - aren't you in Perth Faffa?  Can't remember who said they'd like to get together then... but I'm up for it!

the get together is at my place...we haven't come up with a topic yet and I think the date is up in the air apart from it not coinciding with the Rotto Swim. You're welcome to join us QC  ;D

Ooh, I'd love to come!  I'll be there from about the 12th to the 19th, give or take a day or two... Let me know when and the address and I'll see if it'll work!  :)

I'm so sorry to hear that your demo was such a disaster.  I would definately contact your HQ and attend another one with a more experienced demonstrator.  As I don't like risotto I did ask for some other things to be made (at my expence) at the demo.  She was glad to do this and also brought a cake.  Have a talk to the demonstrator, I have found that they are only too happy to be of help.  Good luck!!!

Yay and double yay for you Jo :) :-* :-* I am sure you will make the most of it now and realise that everything can be personalised in your TM for you and your family. I rarely make risotto at a demo, only if the customer really really likes risotto and wants it. I like it but not everyone does  ;)

You will have to change your name Not Sure Yet  ;D ;D  Great news and good on your DH for convincing you.  You might have to rename yourself Jo's Prodigy after some cooking lessons from her as I'm sure you will be suitably impressed and will rush home and order your own TMX - oops, you won't have to as you can order it from Jo on the spot. ;D  Good on you Jo  :-*
The demo I went to over 2 years ago now didn't make risotto either but did an all-in-one type of meal (veal pizzaiola from the EDC but using chicken thighs) which I think demonstrated the machine in a much better way and is probably more now like what they call a varoma demo.  Risotto lovers (and I am not one of them) should be very impressed with their demo though. Will be very interested to hear what you cook with Jo down the track.

Yay!!  :D  yes, you'll definitely have to change your name!  (I'm having an "Allergy Alternatives" demo at my place on the 7th, so NSY is coming to that  :)  Hopefully she'll then be 'I'm sure now!' ha ha!)

I agree, JD, that an all-in-one meal shows the machine off so well - this is my menu for my allergy alternatives demo, in case you're interested - this may change depending on who's coming and what foods we need to avoid!

Fruity dream (all fruit, honey sweetened, dairy free)
Dairy free pesto or macadamia 'cheese' (haven't decided) with rice crackers
Spelt bread rolls or gluten free bread (depending on who's coming)
Raw beetroot salad or American chop salad
Steamed main meal : Chicken and cashews with a coconut-cashew satay sauce in the bowl, and rice cooking underneath in the rice basket
Dairy free chocolate mousse
Dairy, grain and sugar free Pecan cake served with cashew cream

If anyone comes who can't have eggs or nuts, that will need to be drastically revised!!!  ;D

I am very excited to be able to participate in some more classes and learn from Jo who has such a lot of knowledge! I would like to make the point that my demonstrator was lovely, very kind and believed in her product, it was just the machine I was disappointed in  :'(. I've since had my queries answered and I'm now hooked. What sold me was the stock and yoghurt recipes.  ;D I'll be ordering it today!

Hi QuirkyJo,
Your menu sounds fantastic - I wish I lived closer so could come too!
Have you posted the recipe for the chicken and cashew satay recipe with the rice somewhere?  I would LOVE that recipe please :-* :-*

That is really wonderful news. I think you should keep your name so that people new to the forum will know that you became convinced to buy one. Keep us informed.

Jo your menu sounds awesome.
