The discovery of a new dish does more for the happiness of mankind than the discovery of a star.

I've had dinner with the Governor of Victoria about 13 years ago...
and my aunty is Delta Goodrem's aunt, so I guess that puts me 2 degrees of separation from her, and thereby three degrees from lots of other famous people.
I was on the news too when I was in my last year of high school - not a great thing as friends and I were at the Melbourne Cup having told another friend (for teenager-standard reasonable reasons) that we weren't going, only to be seen by said friend and her mum there on TV... we were certainly infamous after that.

I used to live in Malta when I was a child and I used to see Frankie Howard [Carry On Films] every morning going into the chemist while I waited for the school bus, he was a very large and quite scary man, never saw him smile.  Apparently there were alot of famous people on the Island due to tax breaks.  Although the most famous for me was Rolf Harris as he was the only person on the TV who spoke English.

I've  met Rolf Harris when I was doing my teacher training. He seemed a lovely man. I love his songs, artwork etc.

answering a couple of questions:

I have been in Portugal for nearly 15 years now. I met my wife when she was studying in UK. Then I left, and came to live in Portugal. It's a great country and anyone who comes and visits, don't forget to message me.

As for forum set up and success... The Portuguese forum was set up a few years ago, and I had a meeting with the owners, and they asked if I was willing to set up an English version, which gladly accepted. So I translated everything and started marketing a little. Then Thermomixer helped me out, by promoting this forum via his channels and Thermomix friends/contacts... From then, we have grown at a steady pace. Recently we have boomed, and it looks like this will boom even more. I never knew at the time that this would be such a success. The future looks bright...

As for famous people... well, Prince Charles and Lady Diana came to visit my school :-)

I had no idea the forum was also set in Portugal. Do you also participate on the Portuguese forum? Should I know you from there?

I once met the Queen and Prince Philip when watching a cricket match between some Melbourne chaps and the Royal Household staff in the back garden at Windsor Castle!

Thanks MM for the work you do for this forum - it makes thermomixing much more fun and interesting. And such a lovely bunch of members on this forum. I am in total awe of some of them!

It certainly does. As long as it was for something legal. ;) ;) ;)

If it wasn't legal, we'd have to start a new thread and call it "anyone infamous here?"
