thankyou so much for posting this recipe! this is an old favourite from my childhood, and i never thought of converting it to the tm.
i made this the other night for desert and it was yummy, i actually steamed the dumplings in the steamer basket and they soaked up some of the syrup while they cooked.
all i can say is yum yum!

Ohhhhhhh, wipes drool off keyboard  ;D ;D

This looks fab - I could well be giving this a go over the next few days, the children would LOVE it.  I'm dieting so I'll just watch them eating it.

What are they like cold?

In the end it burnt slightly because of the leftover dough in there.
Thanks for all the comments!  Sorry about forgetting the speed.  I used speed 4 actually. 

Don't clean the bowl between courses - just use a higher speed - speed 1 is so slow it allows the syrup time to sit on the bottom, if you use 4 Robert's your relative (er... that's Bob's yr uncle)  I never have any issues with burning  :)

So excited to have this recipe converted.

My neighbour was asking me about making these the the TMX just last week and I promised him I would make him some.

Now I have all the hard work of converting done for me!

As much as I love my Thermie, I'd make the dough in it, and mix the syrup in it, then I'd revert to 'traditional cooking' and put the dumplings covered in syrup into the oven to cook.

Just sitting in the hot syrup wouldn't soak them as nicely as having them boil in it as it thickens :)

But then, vie been making these things for YEARS ... and some things shouldn't change (too much) :)

I love them on the top of the stove in the syrup. They are so handy for that unexpected guest who turns up for dinner. I've been having them since I was a kid. Nice if you're feeling a bit down or it's cold and wet. (not that we know that sort of weather here :'()
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

The recipe sounds lovely I have always made Golden Syrup Dumplings in the pressure cooker, so I am going to experiment in the Thermo as soon as I can.

With the colder weather here now, it is golden syrup dumplings time.  My daughter always made them the best in our house and she has moved out so going to try them in Thermomix.  She always boiled them in the syrup on the stove, soaking up the syrup.  Thanks for this recipe

Made these tonight. I was never a fan of dumplings (of any sort) from a child I didn't like them and never tried them again until tonight.
And shock horror I actually enjoyed them (as did the rest of the family) except the two youngest who choose not to try them because they looked like balls of potato mash lol.
These were so easy to make and very tasty. 5/5 from us. :)

Made these last night and they were delicious. The sauce was a lot runnier than the version my mum used to make when I was little, would adding a couple of teaspoons of cornflour to the sauce with two minutes to go make it thicker? I  might try that next time.
