Travelling with tm?
« on: April 26, 2011, 02:39:23 am »
We are considering travelling around Australia next year with a very basic set-up.  I would like to take the tm to use when we go into caravan parks, to grind up some more grains for flour and to make some nice meals while we have power.
I am concerned that all the bumping about may upset the tm.
Does anyone have any experience/comments?

How are you travelling abundanceatangas?
If I were you I would invest in a travel bag for the TM. They are $120 from your consultant. They have a place for everything including the spatula and butterfly and have a base built in to the bottom of the bag which means the feet sit raised and any amount of bouncing around will not be a problem as it is protected from damage.
Cookie travels with hers all the time so I am sure she will be able to give you some insight.
One other thing make sure it is insured for your travels  ;)

There are a few here that take theirs with them and I am sure they will have some great info for them. I would certainly consider purchasing a carry bag from your consultant ($120) to protect it and the scales.  ;)

Hi Abs

May be a bit bulky, but if you still have the box & styrofoam, then that is better still.  But it handles quite a few bumps.

Cookie1 is certainly the queen of Have TMX, Will Travel.

Yeah great to see you back Thermomixer. We have  missed you.

I take my machine in either the caravan or the car when we travel. I prefer it in the van as it is out of sight. It's travelled several thousand kilometres and so far so good. I have the travel bag to carry everything in it. I'm packing it up again on Friday as we're off fishing for a month at Monkey Mia.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like it's unanimous, it would be best to get the travelling bag.
