I didn't read all the article. Just glanced through it. It's sad but true that lots of people don't care what they eat. (I do love to pig out on a bought cake with cream etc sometimes though)

Hi

I am the author of the blog www.woogsworld.com which is a personal blog written by myself.  I am sorry I have upset some people regarding my post about the Thermomix. It certainly was not my intention.  I think it is a wonderful invention and see the benefits in owning one.

I write about my personal day to day experiences and would never set out to offend anyone. (Except maybe for bigots, racists and homophobes.)

Kind Regards

Mrs Woog  :)

Oh Mrs Woog, I don't think we were offended by your blog - I thought it was funny - some of the comments were a bit ... but you're blog post WAS amusing

Keep offending the bigots, racists and homophobes - they're always fair game  ;D

it frustrates me how people can be so negative about something they really dont know much about and its only because of the price... would they sneer at a $2000 tv or computer or something like that? they just think all this talk of healthy foods and additive free cooking is a load of rubbish, let them believe wat they want, i know the difference my tm has made for this family...

That reminds me of the comment about people taking the TMX on holiday with them.  How many people could manage a holiday with no TV (yes I could).  I will admit to being inseparable from my iphone and my laptop - they always come on holiday with us, but I haven't convinced dh that I can take the TMX yet - he claims its too heavy.

A friend of mine really balked when I told her the price of it and yet her and her dh have a motorboat ....  For me, cooking is one of my hobbies, hobbies cost money.  I also get a great deal of pleasure from giving my family good quality food that I've made myself.  A few years ago I grew strawberries - had a bumper crop.  Sadly I didn't know how to make jam at the time so we just ate them all but I get a huge kick out of making a dish from food that I've grown myself - now THAT's traceability :)

lol Nik, I keep having to tell my family why I won't take the tmx no holiday.
I deserve a few days off a year from cooking and if I took my tmx with me I'd be doing just that as nothing from the shop is as good as what I make!

I had no problem with your blog post, it was some of the comments that annoyed me and prompted a reply.

I also had took no offence to your blog.  I found it quite amusing and although not being a north shore mum, you've talked me into getting a padded vest.   :D

The cutting coke thing is a little scary to be honest.  Now I know why my 14yo son wanted me to buy it.  And here I was thinking it was for the mango sorbet.

It's a shame so many bogans chose to comment on your thread and bring it down to their level.

Unfortunately $2000 wouldn't get us much of a holiday when you have to pay for 5 people.  That is,  more than one hotel room per night for us.   :-)) I use the same justification as you for deciding whether or not to get a Thermomix.  I'd much rather something that helps me out, keeps us healthy and saves us money than a long weekend on either the gold or sunny coast (couldn't afford airfares with the $2000 budget.)  It has paid for itself within the 12 months of having it.  We used to eat out at least once a week now we eat at home.

Twice a week my kids also take sushi to school.  Youngest has 1 piece, middle child has 2 and eldest takes 3 pieces.  If I was to buy it, it would cost me $15 twice a week.  Using the Thermomix and making the sushi rice in it.  I add everything set the timer and then have a shower whiles it's cooking. My kids then spread the rice on the nori add their own fillings and their lunch is done. This costs me no more than $2 twice a week.  So just on that It's paid for itself now.

I've been reading Mrs Woog's blog and I love it.
It says many things that I'd like to say myself. :D  I left the comment about bottled water being a marketer's dream.

I also like Mia Freedman's (mamamia) blog which is also in the same vein.

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

No offence taken by me about the blog either. It's your blog, you can right whatever you like  ;D

Just thought some of the comments were a little unnecessary.

LOL!! This thread is such a good laugh!! (and I needed one!) Mrs Woog welcome to our forum and Thermomix family. I wondered if you ever came for a look over here - I don't think anyone is offended by your Blog as I hope you aren't to our opinions. You are a comical lady and good writer - hope you'll come again and if you ever want any questions answered about Thermomix be sure to ask us.  :D ;) -
