When we travel we find Aldi fine for fresh food. There specials are sometimes worth checking, but most of their other food is from all over the world. Some places I wouldn't like to eat food from.

There is a new kitchenware store opened up in town and I went in for the first time today, oh my goodness what a place, I could spend a fortune in there.

I kept a tight hold on the purse but did buy a book on bread and ordered another one.  Also put my name on the mailing list for their cooking demonstrations.

We also have an Aldi store in our town but I rarely go in there unless I've seen something in their catalogue that interests me.

The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I wouldn't go out of my way to shop at Aldi unless they had a special item I really wanted. Saying that I've recently swapped over to doing most of my shopping there, and find I'm spending much less than I used to. The prices are generally much cheaper than Coles or Woolies but I can't do all of my shopping there and find some of their own brand products aren't very nice. I'm finding their fruit and veggies and meat are good quality and cheaper, although I don't like all the packaging. Their product range seems to have increased significantly from a few years ago and I'll stick with getting as much as I can there and just picking up the additional few items each week at Woolworths when I pick DD up from work.

I am for anything that makes life easy. We spend far to many hours doing chores . We have to take time to just enjoy what we have  and if you can trim  that hedge in minutes  go girl.  I actually ripped my hedge out because it  took too much  time out of my life maintaining  it . I would rather read a book.

Gert

What a laugh this gave me this morning! You'd hate this garden, so many hedges! But so many birds too!

I am lucky DJ that my house backs on to a rainforest and in the front are two date treat that the cockatoos love. Noisy buggers.
Lovely to have the birds and bees around .

Yes. I would not like to maintain a garden like yours. I am sure it is beautiful

I noticed today that Woollies have 3 x Womans Weekley hardcover books going for $15 each, a saving of $25 each. "Farm House cooking" (I got this one today), the pressure cooking one (I've got this one already, and its brilliant), and also a slow cooking one (I don't have a slow cooker). I've gone mad buying cookbooks the past couple of months I really don't know what has triggered this compulsion. I must stop...sometime soon

In my quest for SOD (simplify, organise, declutter) I want to go to my natural hair colour (which is grey). It was going to cost me $170 to "transition" I don't think so  :-X

My middle step daughter has a gift for hair and beauty and we bought a home colour kit and she worked magic for $15.99.  :D

amazing what you can buy and do at home to save $$$$$

I bought a waxing kit a couple of weeks ago for $150, will last me 18 months, to use the wax up..  saves serious $$$

I don't think I could ever use a home waxing kit. I'd never pull it off. At least if someone does it for you, you don't actually know exactly when they will do it. Also you don't yell as you don't want to be a woose. Having said that I only have my eyebrows done.

I won't tell you what I said the first time I had my legs professionally waxed Cookie  :-))  I think I would have preferred to know it was coming.  I was gritted my teeth after the first strip.

I am all for paying someone else to do my waxing ... how do you get on with the backs of your legs - I would end up with a hairy stripe up both of my legs if I did it myself!

I finally got my ACM RFID wallets sorted out ... (going back to the discussions at the beginning of this month).  I got a silver one for myself which I had to return as one of the card slots was not working properly and my replacement wallet arrived yesterday, no questions asked (you don't get this sort of service when dealing with an overseas company).  I also got a hybrid wallet for my sister.  I think it will take a bit of getting used to, having my cards in a separate place, but it is also reassuring that, if I lost my wallet I would still have my cards ... however, if I lost my ACM wallet I would still have my normal wallet, but lose my cards ... bit of a Catch 22 I think!

It took me about a eek to get used to the separation Marina but now I am liking it. Also less bulk in the wallet.

It was easy choosing which six cards to use. Amazing how many plastic cards we have there days.

It took me about 2 weeks to get used to it Cuilidh, I like having them separate now.
