How exciting a crochet along together would be!
I was so impressed with the quality of the yarn and it comes in a beautiful net bag, tied with a ribbon. High marks for presentation. I got it through her website, her wool shop link which goes to another store. It was quite quick delivery and I had to buy a 4mm hook as I didn't have one. I only leant to crochet last year.
Lucy doesn't give full instructions on the relevant pages, but tells enough to make it work, and I am sure you could make it what you want, longer, wider etc. There is no definitive colour list so a bit of guessing along the way, or we all just do our own thing. I think there is enough wool to make a full size blanket, but I thought I'd do this size first and see how I get on. Might be enough left for a baby blanket after. For me it's just the start of a whole new adventure and I must keep going with the hospice wool one too, but that is very portable, as I knot squares then crochet them together, and as this one grows it will be less portable.

I copied these facts from here http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2010/07/the-granny-stripe-tadah.html

Yarn :: 17 colours of Stylecraft Special DK, worked on a 4mm hook.

Measures :: 110 x 150 cm

Starting chain :: 240

Stripes :: 60

Balls :: approx 10 x 100g

Weight :: just less than 1kg

Make it what you want and have fun!

PS
I have no idea why it put the kneading sign in the prose..LOL

Thanks So much DJ. The style craft yarn does look beautiful, not sure if the shop would ship to Australia. There is another UK yarn site called Deramores that ships here for free if you spend $100. They also have the Stylecraft wool.  I really should use up what I have, but saw those colours and thought wow!
I taught myself to Crochet approx 4 years ago and still stick to simple patterns because I find that so relaxing( once I've got the initial chain done, lol)
At least you have good crochet weather there right now, stinking hot here, but by the fan I still manage to do a little. :D

Clever girls. I can do embroidery, knit but when I crochet it always ends up as a hat. An aunt was going to teach me to Tatt ( I think that's right) but I was too slow getting my act into great and she died. It's like crochet but you use a shuttle. Lace making fascinates me too.

No Pasta Maker yet. I spent the rest of my Christmas Dymocks vouchers today.

This book is fiction, but as I love GBBO I couldn't resist it.
The Paul Hollywood book is from Dymocks and the magazine from a newsagent.

Katj - Re the wool, I think they do ship globally from attic 24 shop link on her site.

The count was just ok, have just finished my first colour - pomegranate. Change colours tomorrow.
The colours are listed on one of the granny blanket pages. I like to use her link to the shop to help her as she gives so much for her readers and followers in terms of wonderful ideas.

JD - I taught myself crochet by watching you tube videos!
Cookie - Love the idea of the novel... Will await your review!

The Mary Berry book looks like a lovely read. Look forward to your review Cookie.
I need a light read at the moment as I have just finished a true crime read and it was heart breaking.

I used the pasta machine again today.

Made linguine for Hokkien Mee (recipe in the included cook book).  Using prawns and various veg that I had in the fridge, it turned out really good, DH loved it.

I believe that the pasta amounts stated are much more than I could ever serve, but that totally depends on peoples appetites I guess.  Have made a note to only make half serve of pasta the next time I make this particular dish.  The pasta turned out brilliantly,.  Have I said how much I really love this machine?  ;D

I really love your machine too Julie. And the noodles look mouthwatering. Watched a Phillips cooking event on TVSN yesterday in hope of seeing it in action. Instead saw 1hr on the air fryer and found out no stock on pasta maker.

That looks amazing JulieO. I'm thinking I might look at getting the pasta maker for DH for his birthday in May, he always has more time than me to make fresh pasta and loves doing it. Is the recipe for the hokkein noodles different to pasta or just the shape?
