Black Friday - I think the term originated from the USA. It refers to the day after Thanksgiving (a Friday) where retailers will be in the " black" for the first time in the year. Lots of sales/deals on between Thanksgiving and Christmas here. It's a very competitive retail environment here in the US.

Interesting! I wonder why the Black Friday sales seem to have suddenly taken off. I've never noticed them before, but this year they are everywhere here. And it's not like we have anything around about thanksgiving so it seems pretty strange to just adopt the sales part of the holiday.

I have done a little Xmas shopping - mostly kids clothes, but a few little other bits. Chutney and a serving board for BIL, water-based nail polish for niece (washes off - love it for the little kids), and a few other random stocking stuffers.
Just about to go browse tmx cookbook reviews now - mum and sis have just purchased machines, so think they might like some extra recipes....I won't mention which ones I am looking at since I have told them to get over here and start enjoying the forum! ;)

Jo that is wonderful that family members have thermomixes. I have 2 friends who have them but sadly one hardly uses it and the other used it madly for several years but has stopped recently.
It may be for the best as we would only talk thermomix otherwise.

When I heard about Mox shoes ( thanks Katie) I decided they would be great for the summer at home and perfect for the showers when camping. My liquorice pair arrived this morning. I love them.

I've been thinking about getting  a pair of these for ages just not sure on the size. Did you go up a size cookie?

I love my Mox!  I have 3 pairs (black, blue and purple).   I catch the train to work and then walk 25 minutes to my office. I wear my Mox and change to other shoes once at work.  They don't hurt my feet and I've never had a blister.  They are really comfy.

Jen I normally take size 9 and I have wide feet, I didn't go up a size I went with size 41 (which is size 9 according to their sizing chart) and they fit perfectly.

Jeninwa if you go to their site they tell you about size. I usually take a 7 or 37/38. I measured my foot and sent for a 39. They are great. It feels different to walk in, but not unpleasant.

I love my mox too. I wore them to work when I was pregnant. I think I might need some more :)

Skinnymixer had a special discount code, not sure if it still available, on mox, worth a scout.

Quite a few people on Skinnymixer seem to have them.
Jamberie I remember you posting a picture of them.

Those Mox shoes look interesting.  If anyone finds the discount code on Skinnymixers' blog I would be interested!

Got DH's Xmas present(s) today - DVDs of I, Claudius, Wolf Hall and the Sopranos' complete series.  Goodness knows when he will get a chance to watch them, but he loved I, Claudius when it first came out so many years ago and the other two he has often spoken of longlingly so I hope he likes them all.
