I bought a little device (looks vaguely like a beer bottle opener) called a JarKey for opening jars ... now that my hands and wrists are getting a little weaker, I saw this and thought I would give it a try and it works really well.  You just put the lip under the lid of the jar and lift slightly (with very little effort) and it releases the vacuum.  Very easy and I am very happy!!!

That sounds helpful Marina.

Marina, I have something similar.  A must have as I can’t open jars.  Only thing is you have to be careful if you intend to use the jar and lid again for jam or bottling.

I hadn't thought of that, Chookie.  The jar looked fine / undamaged and the lid didn't seem distorted either, but it is something I will certainly be aware of.

Xmas came early.  I have an Apple Watch 4 and a new Apple iphone X r.   My old phone was not compatible with the watch.   I am very impressed with the Activity programme on the watch and am looking forward to the camera features on the phone.  It is all giving this old brain quite a work out.

Good for you Chookie, who taught you how to use the watch?

Nice gifts Chookie.

Great gifts ... do I detect Gert's influence here?

LOL! I am not the only one who likes to keep up with the latest technology. Chookie will master that watch in no time. I might even up grade myself but self says do I need 3 Apple watches?

Yes Gert certainly had a big influence.  You should see the new Gert.  Trim and terrific.   So did Mandy.  Gert just has to come and stay again so she can show me how to use all this new stuff. My fossilised brain is having a melt down.

Oops, I have been at it again. Bought another recipe book.  Lots of nice dip recipes and salads with Chai seeds.
