A microwave and washing machine for me.  Not nearly as inspiring as a recipe book!!

What sort of microwave did you buy Marina?

It was a Panasonic, 1100 kw (if I recall correctly).  I didn't do as much research as I maybe should have done, but my old microwave and the one at Guildford are both Panasonic and neither of them have given me any trouble so that's why I went with that brand again.  LG got got reviews in Choice magazine, but there were a lot of negative comments on Canstar Blue about the noise / tune they made when they had finished their cycle that that put me off them.  Also, because the mw is above the oven and the oven was mainly black with a stainless steel 'fascia stripe' I felt I should get a similar look for the mw.

It sounds good to me. We are on our second Panasonic and have never had trouble with either of them. I think the first was a National, before they changed their name.

I went to a clothing warehouse with my Probus group today and it was hard not to buy a few things before they fed us copious amounts of sandwiches, cake, biscuits and coffee/tea.  Trousers and 3 tops, not cheap but very good quality.

Marina, we also have had Panasonic microwaves.  No problems.

We always now get the Panasonic inverter microwave. I am the killing machine with microwaves killed about 8 not kidding DH just shakes his head each time .
Might have brought bathers , shoes , pants and a top .

How do you kill a Microwave. ?
I have only bought 2 in 55 years of married life.
I use the Microwave every day.

We are on our second in 47 years Chookie. We bought our first one in 1980 when DD was born. She was prem and drank about 40ml of milk every couple of hours. The microwave was so quick when the baby was screaming at 2am. 😀😀😀😀😀

I feel for you Cookie. Our DD was a shocker.  She cried from the time she was born.  We realised much later that she was hungry as she reacted badly to cows milk. I put her on solids early.  Wish I had had a TMX then. I would boil a lamb shank with veg and barley, no salt.  She loved it.

We are still on our second microwave too.  The first one just died and this one came from my Dad's house after he passed away.  It is very basic but still does the job.

I’m on my 4th since 1987.  At one stage when I had 2 going at once I gave the nursing home one for the kitchen visitors can use but that only lasted 6 months then the one I’d kept carked it.  Thankfully they are not expensive.
