THE SHOPPING THREAD :-)

Yesterday went to our local butcher but he was closed for 2 days while he organized the Xmas orders.  Today he was open. I wanted sausages and bacon. However he had a sign up to say that he had a couple of Deutscher Turkey Breast rolls.  In the past we have bought these organically raised turkeys from the farm.   They are out of this world. Even though I have organized the turkey, I just had to have one. Fortunately it can sit in the fridge until Xmas day.  The other can be ready for Easter.

Don’t want to talk about shopping.  Took 3 hours to buy 1 shirt for Ral today.  OMG.

I went shopping to buy DH's Xmas gift for me at lunchtime yesterday ... I have decided that anyone who goes shopping at lunchtime two days before Xmas must be crazy!!! even the queues had queues, it was absolute mayhem.  Did the grocery shopping at the supermarket early in the day and that went smoothly so we are all ready now for Xmas Day.

I ordered this today.  Have been waiting until they came back in stock.

Having the 4 separate containers means I'll be able to make both Greek style and coconut yoghurts at the same time when needed. 
Have been really impressed with the quality of their vacuum sealer so took the plunge.

You'd think so wouldn't you?  But it's not something that we have a lot of but when we do I like it to be home made.  It just tastes better IMO.  Only making in small quantities ensures  it doesn't go off before it's all gone too

That will be great Julie, it’s always nice to buy new kitchen equipment to make home made goodies. No hidden nasties in home made food.

I will be interested to see how it goes JulieO. I have bought a couple over the years and given them away as I didn't like them. I had a great one years ago I lent to Mum. When she died I forgot about it and someone felt their  need for it was more than mine. I have never been able to buy one like it.

Yes they recommend incubating for 24 hours as it's supposed to aid in gut health, I will be trying this with my natural yoghurt.

Cookie, I will post what I think of it after using it.  I do have one now that I've used for years that has never let me down but I like the versatility of being able to do 2 lots at once in this new one if needed and I like the smaller pots.
