Thanks K ATIE.  I was able to do a good deed today as a result of being out.  Our ex SIL who insists on giving us free Chook food. Had a very large piece of beef. I cut it into steaks and roasts and vacuumed sealer it for him.
I still don’t feel comfortable being out, even though there are very few cases of the virus in Ballarat.

Cookie, this AF book is interesting as it has recipes for a variety of thing I have never considered.  However I have another book that I like  as it counts the calories.  These recipes are much more traditional.

So do I, it beats trying to work it out for yourself.  Nice books Chookie.  I try and stay away from recipe books as I often find it’s easier to just look online, not that I’m doing much cooking, my pre-op packs in the freezer are still plentiful.

Yesterday I purchased a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscription.  I had heard about this sort of subscription in the past, but didn't know much about it.  Basically, this is a a subscription to support the farmers and, in turn, receive a regular portion of their vegetable harvest when the time comes. Members pay up front to secure their share of the harvest (subscription includes for delivery) and the farmers use the subscription to plan their crop and purchase seed. When I looked into this I found that one of the farmers I used to purchase from at the farmers market were part of this scheme so I was comfortable supporting them - they have been organic for years and are now starting to convert to permaculture so I know the produce will be excellent.  The first delivery isn't until January and it will be interesting to see what we get in our weekly box.

What a great idea Marina, I guess you have to tell them how many you are feeding otherwise you could end up with way too much produce.  Please let us know more about what you are receiving once your deliveries start in January.

I will let you all know how it goes once the harvest starts coming in in a couple of months.  You let them know how many you are feeding and you can also list up to 2 food dislikes or allergies.  The farm I am subscribing to is Angelica Organic Farm in Glenlyon, which is up near Guildford, but they deliver to the city so that works best for me.

Chookie, the subscriptions for Angelica actually close today (I was very late getting my paper work in to them), but if you really did want to follow up on this you could contact Derri-Anne and mention my name and, if they are not over-subscribed she might let you make a late application.

Thanks Marina.  I did check it out.  I love the idea f supporting local farmers.  However we will continue to buy through local deliveries and at farm gates.  The Creswick Farmers Market is also good but we haven’t been there for months.

My Pie Maker book finally arrived today.  It has taken 19 days to come from Sydney.

It's dreadful isn't it? DD ordered from Amazon the other day and it took 3 days from Melbourne. Everything else takes about 4 weeks.
