I love figs . Woollies has them for about $16. A kilo . Cheap  i think. They are large, plump and ripe. I love splitting the tops , stuffing them with a hunk of gorgonzola, wrapping them in thinly sliced  prosciutto and pop into a very hot oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted, the ham crisp And drizzle with a good olive. Bliss.

Cp sorry to hear you got scammed.. It really makes me angry when you here how low some people will go for a buck.. Im a strong believer in every dog has its day or what goes around comes around... He'll get his own..problem is that people like him will eventually make it alot more difficult for people who actually find themselves in that kind of situation sadly.. You must br fuming but still think is great that you thought you were doing the right thing...

Unfortunately our Woolies here don't sell them (yet), same as quinces.  Would love to make quince paste but as yet none of the supermarkets are selling them.

Like your idea of what to make with them, sounds really nice, thanks Gert.  :)

CP that is truly ghastly.

On a happier note I saw this book in Myer on Saturday. They were having 35% off and the book was marked down to $34.95 as a special deal, as I had a $10 voucher from Myer for my birthday I lashed out and bought it for $22 something.
I love it.

Hey I did have a stroke of good luck tho on the weekend  ;D ;D ;D  We bought a huge flat screen Samsung TV from David Jones that had been reduced down from $1400 odd to price match Myer (think it may be making way for new model), then with staff discount and store gift card they gave me for signing up for an Amex card - can you believe we paid just $230   :o :o :o they even threw in free home delivery, but we took it home straight away. Unbeeeeelieevable!

Great news CP. You win some and you lose some.  I would have carried it home on my back for that price in case they changed their minds  ;D
