i'm purchasing the new Kindle Paperwhite today, I didn't even know it was released until reading the "What are you reading thread" and now I have to have one. I'll be using a US freight forwarder because they haven't got an official release in Australia yet.

No it isn't worth travelling around for bargains but when they are in the same complex it isn't an issue :)

I agree with you about some of the American cookbooks and their ingredients. I'd much rather cook from scratch, like most people here. However I did buy caramel flavoured choc chips at the supermarket a couple of weeks ago ( I haven't tried them yet), as some recipes call for caramel baking chips, and I assume these will suffice.

Using a voucher for Target that I got for my birthday, I picked up from the Jamie Oliver range,  2 little glass clip-top jars, one containing cracked black pepper and the other sea salt flakes.  Going out for $7.50, I bought them for the jars and little wooden scoop that comes with them more than anything.  The spices are just a bonus  :D

Also a couple of his bowls and some nice drinking glasses that will be perfect for individual trifles, desserts etc. Also the WW Bakes & gratins that Maddy posted about.  :D

Hally, I don't know what half those things are, but they look exciting!
I've just ordered some wine to use up a voucher they sent me for my birthday - haven't even unpacked the last lot I bought, obviously need to lift my game! Also shopping around for an on-line high interest savings account as I've just realised the one I'm currently using seems to have dropped it's interest by a few points so now it's pretty well useless.

Gald you got to do some shopping at last Hally, hoping your back is continuing to improve.
Will keep an eye out for the WW cookbook, looks interesting.
Haven't seen the caramel chips as yet in the supermarket here, maybe they will get them in for Christmas.
Just read on the other post Julie that you bought the car.  How exciting, I think the reversing camera would be wonderful.
