Ooo I love Haigh's chocolates - MIL brings some over usually when she visits.

I've been to the G place too  ;) My FIL usually brings over Loukanika (Greek sausages) when he visits.

WOW some interesting sutff going on in Adelaide by the sounds of it  ;D

Maddie, do you use the spiraller much? I was thinking of buying one but worried it's a bit gimicky and will sit in my draw.

I am interested in hearing what Maddy says about the spiraliser too Wonder.  I had one in my drawer for ages, and recently got rid of it (not a pink one, the green one) because I could never get it to work properly.  I found it fiddly to use, and the veggies spirals kept breaking off really short, and ended up looking like something from the compost bin rather than something pretty on the plate.  Mind you, I am completely willing to admit user-error ......... I dont have much patience for really fiddly things.

I have had the green for a while and love it. I use it at least once a week.
If you can buy the bigger carrots it looks really pretty mixed in with zucchini.  :)

Led astray by Judy  ;) who I think was influenced by Amanda  :D, I ordered this book today from Oz Harvest - which is an organisation concerned with food security and reducing food wastage, which rescues food which would be otherwise thrown out and distributes it to charities.

http://www.lambsearsandhoney.com/

The book is recipes for using up left-overs of food that otherwise might get thrown out, and has recipes from Maggie Beer, George Calombaris, Peter Gilmore, Bill Granger and Neil Perry.

only just got it....used that night for dinner.
gimmick - yes....but what gimmick is essential  :P
carrots need to be wider to get the spaghetti spirals, otherwise you end up with little smiley shaped pieces of carrot.
cucumber worked well.
Don't think I would be bothered twisting a bag of carrots though....would take too long!
.........EAT CAKE!

My Daughter loves the spiraller, she uses it, then eats the raw carrot.
