maddy you can use copha which is vegetable shortening

but it will set hard in fridge....I guess it would be ok to heat first?

I think the oil will stop it from becoming hard. I only made ¼ batchon the stove . In the fridge now. i hope it works too. now what will i try and cook or bake to test it

maddy It did set hard but easy just to scrape with knife and pop in m/wave for few sec
Or rub with paper towel

  I did   a search.   Most recipes say can be kept out of the fridge up to 3 mouths

I'm afraid this is my second silly question for today - Monique, what is a bum nut?  I've never heard of that, I suspect it's an egg .... but not totally convinced!

Hubby always calls them bum nuts....sounds horrid, but it sticks in your head
