Thanks so much for your tips Andi, I really appreciate it. Ever since seeing Chookie's recommendation of checking the temp of the inside of bread I've wanted to get a good one The one I have (from Cheeselinks) isn't the best, won't turn off, have to remove battery just to stop it working etc so when I saw your post I decided to get a Thermapen too.

Exactly right JulieO that is why I bought my thermometer. Now I never have an underdone loaf . The MasterChef is so easy to use and read. Great for checking the yogurt as well as my yeast for my home brew. I find I keep it on the bench now.Gert
