Oh, DD was surprised & impressed when she found out I was buying goods online

I texted my DD23 something probs along the line of ROTFLMAO  (wasn't that one but) and she said...what are you talking about mum, I said "its obvious! we all talk like this nowadays", she said "mum, never heard of it, I think you are making things up", I said "rubbish, this is how we talk on the forum". She disputed all the short talk ha ha, and turns out I was right cos we googled the abbreviation. Those crazy kids don't want to keep up with technology  ;D

Yes, it doesn't happen very often. Grand-children are different - they think we know everything (mind you, mine are only youngsters so I guess that will change when they become teenagers and then they will probably think they know everything ;)

My DD2 still thinks it's amazing that by her introducing me to the TMX it has led to such an involvement in this forum and all the friends I have made from it.

Our 3 DD's are not shocked by anything Mum does or doesn't do - but I speak form the mouth of the non Grandparent experience and heavens knows when that day will come.  The girls are more shocked at some of the things I tell them as to the happenings in the lives of current adolescents - after all as a result of teaching mainly yrs 11 and 12 for eons I have been able to an observer to all that is current and believe me many times there are 'beam me up Scotty moments!!  :)  :)

I tell my grandchildren about my grandfather, who was the major "parent" in my childhood.  He and my grandmother raised me after my mom and dad divorced when I was still a toddler.
My grandma had a lot of input but my grandpa and I had an extraordinary relationship, considering he was elderly when I was born (my mother was 16 and grandmother was only 32) but I was the only girl born in a generation, my mother being the last, and he took it upon himself to teach me to read by the time I was four and encouraged me to do things considered to be male-only activities.
(He was far ahead of his time in many ways.)

I know some people who are embarrassed by their aging parents but I usually find them interesting people - different I guess when they are not your own parents. :D

:) Just remember that the kids usually pick the parents nursing homes.

I just loved it a few years ago, when my parents went for a ski holiday.

Spending The Kids inheritance.

They have been on quite a few since too.

Exactly what we're doing. ;) ;)

I'm going to give up looking at this thread.  It is very dangerous.

It will certainly reduce the amount of liquid soap I buy. Thanks to ever suggested it. The woman in Howards Storage asked me where I heard about it. :P
