Went to Creswick market and it rained heavily the whole time we were there. I wanted to buy one very large potato to make potato cakes. The man on the stall insisted that I not pay, so I told him I would bring him some jam next Market. He was delighted. Said he would keep me in potatoes for a year in exchange for jam. Looks like the jam currency has started.

That good news Gert. Wonder what the problem was.
Just found an interesting item in the Guardian newspaper about Jam.
Talking to myDS this morning about jam making. She wanted to know what recipes I use. Told her I have my own formula and use the TMX.

That would have been the end of that conversation Chookie LOL.
Welcome back on air Gert. Are you using your TMX much these days?

I thought everyone was off the air!
Yup I use it weekly but not daily. I am just not as enthused with the TM5 as it is sooo slow. Also not cooking for anyone but me these days..

Notes on Jam. I have 4 basic TMX Jam formulas. All on my blog but also posted on the Forum.
Dried Apricot , fresh Apricot, Strawberry and Lemon and Carrot Marmalade. I buy Jam Setta and often use 1 teaspoon of this added to any overripe fruit. I love making it in the TMX as it is so predictable. Usually make 4 medium jars at a time.

Cookie, Strawberries are lovely at the moment. The buyer at Woolies told me they come from Queensland and have more flavour than the Summer ones from Victoria. I think he is correct.

Chookie, I ate a whole punnet the other day for my evening meal as I’d been out to lunch. They were delicious and I agree with the Woolies chap wholeheartedly.

K Atie, blueberry jam is disappointing. But add blueberries to strawberries and the jam is better.

As K Atie said Woolworths have lovely Blueberries at the moment. I served some with a lemon coconut slice from Green Kitchen. Bit too coconutty for us. Needed the Blueberries.
