That's great news Lee. Was sure once I seen the post from Ed that you were in with a chance. Now you have to do what all before you have done.......Wait. It's the hardest bit I tell you.

That is terrific news. Your demo sounded very special too. I'm so glad that you made it past the post. Choose your first set of recipes and get the ingredients in as you will want to get underway as soon as it arrives. I spent that tense time in between period getting my Thermomix recipe book set up on the computer. I remember that one of my first recipes to Christen the TM was the Vegetable Gratin that was done at my demo and I repeated it because I liked it so much.
Have fun!

Signed, sealed and now the wait begins... Ed has filled the fridge with fresh yeast (funnily enough even BEFORE the order was placed) and I will be now searching the internet and this forum for recipes. What should my first menu be? I assume it will arrive on a day when I am very late home from work and will need something quick (so basically anything). My demonstrator said about 10 days, plus the weekends, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Once again, thank you all for you help. It is wonderful to know that we have so many new friends behind us, should we have any questions, ideas or inspiration.

Welcome Lee and congrats on getting a TMX into your life.
I think a risotto could be an easy first meal and it doesn't take too long. Risottos are one of the things that the machine does really well.
If I were you, I'd advise Ed to put the yeast into the freezer, cut into the appropriate size chunks wrapped in clingfilm. (15-20g). It doesn't keep too well fresh and if you're not getting your machine for 10 days, it might have lost its potency by the time the machine arrives. If you freeze it, it doesn't take long to defrost once you're ready for baking.
I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but there are loads of English recipe books that you can get hold of from UK Thermomix.... and also loads of recipes on their website.

I was going to suggest the same thing Katya. Guess at this stage you only have the forum recipes to choose from Lee and there are plenty to choose from.

Thank you so much. Yes, darling Ed did buy enough yeast to sink a ship. In fact the top shelf of our fridge is weighed down with yeast so clearing it to the freezer is an excellent idea. Don't they say something about putting the cart before the horse?
Funnily enough, I have caught Ed out - ever since the party, thumbing through all the information our demonstrator left behind. He is more interested in it than I am. Hmmmmmm. These Darling Hubbies - what are we going to do with them?

I think you may soon need a Thermie Roster by the sounds of it
You two are just going to have a ball with it when it arrives and we'll look forward to hearing all about what you cook

Oh what an adventure you guys are going to have - you are having so much fun already and you haven't even got your machine.
Does Ed speak German to be able to understand the book that comes with the machine Lee or are you going to get all your recipes from the forum?

Bless Ed, he speaks English, German and Swedish so the recipes at this end are no problem at all. I speak some German and I can read most recipes, just funny things like spoon conversions trip me up sometimes, so Thermie, with its own scales, eliminate most of that tsp and tbs (TL and EL over here). I have downloaded the English manual several times and one can find it in various parts of our home, on various stories.... Bedroom, bathroom, study and kitchen!!! Easiest way I found to drop the hints. Made contact with a TMX Demonstrator in the UK who can send me books directly, all our German books are available online to purchase. My demonstrator even suggests we borrow the books from her for a week before we purchase - how good is that!!! I am interested in the books available in Australia though. Is it the EDC? I fancy one of those when I come over at Christmas. Do I need to buy it from a demonstrator??

For interest's sake Lee,
this
is the contents list of the EDC. I like the offer from your consultant to borrow her books for a week.
