got the TMX last night...

Hi Girls and Guys,
I have just recieved my thermomix last night (after a class) and reaced home from work today to cook up a storm!
I got the thermomix mainly for health and time reasons as i'm a full time working, masters studying, mumma to 2 busy boys (4y and 1.5y). my eldest has been responding well to a lower additive diet lately as he's a bit of a handful so the TMX is a helpful addition to my kitchen.
my youngest is anaphylactic to eggs but i'm finding heaps of the TMX recipes call for egg. any tips how to replace? its taken me 6 months to be brave enough to sub in regular cooking and baking (muffins, pikelets etc)...i was going to get the luchbox cookbook but over half the recipes have egg...
looking forward to gaining lots from this forum and hopefully i'll contribute at a later stage.

Hi Amy! Welcome to the wonderful world of Thermomix!!
Do you use egg replacer? I find that works quite well in most baking. Here's a couple of cakes on my blog that don't have eggs:
Gingerbread Cake
and
Chocolate Banana Cake
(can make with or without eggs). There's also a recipe for
wholegrain waffles or pancakes
that you can make without egg. And one of our favourite desserts/snacks -
Creamy Coconut Vanilla Rice Pudding
!
Happy cooking!

Welcome Amy. We really love
this
banana bread which is egg free. I often make it with dates as bananas are so expensive at the moment.

wow, thank you all for your warm welcomes. i will start a new word file for recipes, that is a really great start, thanks... i have a buldging one with non-TMX recipes, I'll have to get some help to convert my favs.
quirky cooking, i have 'no egg' and its ok to use. i'd much rather just find recipes that are specifically no egg. i just find replacer a bit blagh!
I've spent a few days getting to know my new pal, i've done herb dip, stock, chicken hors dervs (not very nice
) lemonade - YUM, butter, buttermilk bread, 'yogo' and tonight lasagne all from the EDC. I'm really getting the hang of it now...
but i can't master the oat porrige recipe from the book. the first one. following the recipe VERY specifically, the milling turns the oats in to flour virtually, then a film develops on the bottom and it wont heat beyond body temp, its very runny. twice now i've buggered it up. i even tipped it out this morning, cleared the film and tried again but it just got clogged again... got any ideas? time to find a new recipe i think.vfrustrating, but just lucky its cheap oats and not lobster that i'm throwing away. although, my boys didn't complain too much this morning!

I always use the 2nd recipe,200 g oats 700 g boilingvwater,100c speed 2 for about 8 mins then I add a 1/4 of a large tin of light and creamy evap give it a couple more min 100cspeed 2 and we love it. Never had a failure. If any left over I pop it in the fridge and microwave next day.
