Not in this household Lee, I do everything for my DH.  Don't know how I would handle a DH in my kitchen, it is my domain  ;)
I sometimes envy those with a DH who will cook the odd meal or take them a coffee in bed though.

oh poor Lee, You so much want to get your hands on your TM but Ed wont let you  :(. My DH has never even touched my TM , Im too scared he will break it lol)
Like Judy I do everything for my DH as well although occasionally he will cook tea but non-TM style or BBQ style.
At least Ed is taking interest in the TM. I think it is great that he wants to use it. Im sure you will get your chance sooner or later.

I am very fierce about my kitchen, and won't let my husband in !! You know what it's like, the "Boys toys" phenomenon, how dh gets completely obsessed with something, to the point of becoming boring. The last episode in our house was with the bl***y chickens. Dh bought a secondhand incubator, picked a breed and a farmer from which we could buy the eggs, put 20 eggs in the incubator, and went away to work for 2 weeks, so kept hassling me to "check the temperature" in the incubator ....15 times a day.
We were expecting 5 little chicks......we had 15 !! Very cute, a lovely breed ( coucou de Rennes)
For some reason, we had a lot more cockerels than hens, so they will be fattened up for the freezer. DH is now obsessed about making sure they put on the "right kind of fat".
That is why, Lee, I'm not letting him anywhere near MY thermomix when it arrives. he'll be arguing whether the pastry needs 7 or 8 seconds to be mixed. I love him to bits, though..

Anyone else had problems with their husbands cooking TOO much??? Has this EVER happened to ANYONE?

HAHAHA.............no man in this house cooks......unless you class turning a snag or a steak on the barbie as cooking!

But guess who cooked them - not me but ED! Now, he is hogging the cook books.  Ed told me to check out the forum instead.  Hmmmf!  DH is so proud of his decision to purchase a TMX.  He is already planning breakfast! Hmmmmmmm  ;)

LOL....I told you Ed was going to do that  :P

My DH does most of the day to day cooking but only because he has ended up with the role of stay at home Dad because my work hours are looooong and I travel a lot. He uses the TMX but it's only out of necessity, I'm the one who loves to cook and the little time I get at home is dominated by cooking - he's very happy to hand over the duty when I'm around and I'm more than willing to accept it. My dream is to be a stay at home Mum but given my kids are now 16 and 11 I guess I've missed my chance  :-[

My DH cooks every Sunday night.  His standard fortnightly rotation is baked beans and fried bacon on toast and steak sandwiches. It is amazing how good things taste if you don't have to cook them.  :P ;D

How true that is.  :D :D
My DH cooks Tue & Thur and it's usually a  roast on Tuesday and something ( steak, grilled chicken, chops etc) and chips on Thursday. I would happily give up the chips for a salad but am outvoted.  ;) ;) I just appreciate a meal being ready when I walk in at 6.30pm

Ed is/was a fabulous cook even before our new addition.  He is one of those people that just bung things together willy nilly and they taste great.  We have literally thousands of cookbooks from Margaret Fulton to Larousse Gastronomique. Yet he is the Doctor and the scientist.  I, on the other hand am the creative, musical one in the family yet I read recipes and weigh everything to the gram.  I innovate naturally but when I try something new I follow it to the letter.

I have had the most wonderful first day with my Thermobaby (once I sent Ed out into the garden and out of the way).  As you know, I  am living in Germany and need to practise by language skills, I have tried not to read my downloaded English instructions and suffer through the Deutsch.  Thanks to this most amazing forum, I did study up quite a bit before (as you all know from my thousands of posts over the past few weeks).

The menu of the today has been:

Traditional Chopped Chicken Liver Pate (recipe posted with photograph)

Möhreneintopf (recipe from Jeden Tag genießen, the book that comes with TM31 here in Germany)
This is a soup made of carrots, potatoes, parsley which was absolutely delicious.  Probably better for my Australian friends who are in the midst of a cold snap, rather than us in the northern hemisphere who are sunning ourselves during the last few days before Fall (Autumn) kicks in.

An all in one Mushroom Risotto with Varoma Broccoli and Salmon

Hollandaise Sauce

Vanilla Ice Cream

What a fabulous day!  I cooked and self cleaned and self dried (on  :-:  ^^) until I had almost run out of tea towels!  I wish I was hungry again.  Ed will surely be up making bread in the morning.  I am making Pizzas for lunch and dinner.... any suggestions?

One last funny thing.  Ed heard me talking in the kitchen from the garden numerous times throughout the day.  He came in from time to time so see who I was talking to.  I told him no one but really I was talking to the laptop, hoping you'd all hear me - to answer my questions, laugh at me when I forgot to put MC on, help me mop up a little mess here and there but see me whistling a happy tune, as I whiled away the day.

xoxox  ;D

It's great to hear that you finally got your hands on the TM,Lee. ;) Wow what a successful day you've had for your first day.I also cook by weighing and measuring ingredients,if I chucked things in haphazardly it would taste bloody awful :D :D Looking forward to hearing how your pizza making goes.We like our pizza fairly plain with just fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil.

For someone who didn't have a delivery demo Lee, you have done so well.  You are going to have to have friends over to help you eat some of the spoils if you keep cooking at that rate.
Converted Jamie Oliver recipe here seems popular on the forum.
Favourite pizza toppings is a thread on the forum here

wow sounds like its all going wonderfully and love that you send DH out into the garden to give you and 'thermiebaby' time alone lol!!  It will end up that you will need some kind of roster for you both to be able to use the thermomix!!  Glad to hear tis all going well  :) :)

yes happy times - great to hear of the fun you are having. when you make the pizza dough I suggest blitzing 2 garlic cloves and rosemary to add to the dough. Here are some suggestions for pizza toppings.

The recipe for the pizza in the German TMX book is absolutely the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten.  I am sure the base is the same as the one in the Australian EDC.  I made a margarita pizza but threw in a green capsicum for fun.  Yum yum! I wish I was hungry again... Does everyone on here put on tonnes of weight when TMX moved in?
