New TM21 User in Hampshire, UK
« on: September 13, 2011, 05:29:16 pm »
Hi Everyone

I've just bought my first Thermomix on eBay - a TM21- very excited about starting to use it :)  Glad to find a community of like-minded souls to converse with :)

Unfortunately the TM21 arrived with German instructions & cookery book :(

I've managed to find some useful info on this (brilliant!) forum and been in touch with UK Thermomix - they've said that they can send me a Cookery Book (The New British Cookbook) and a photocopied UK manual.  My question is whether the cookbook is worth the £19.95 + P&P that they're asking!

I've checked the recipe reviews section on this forum and also googled it, but can't find any reviews or references to this book!  In the scheme of things, £20 isn't masses compared to the cost of the TM21, but I'm still reluctant to buy a book sight unseen!  Any comments???

Looking forward to starting to use my new toy over the next few days & weeks & months & years!

Susie

Hi and Welcome Suzie. You certainly will find a lot of recipes on here (Probably more so for the TM31) But I think they would be easy enough to ada[t to the TM21. I don't know a lot about your model except it doesn't have the reverse function.
Good luck with your cooking and have fun.

Hi Susie, welcome to the forum.  I would think the recipe book would be a must unless you have used one before.  It will help you also to start converting your favourite recipes by being able to refer to similar type recipes. We have had a few members upgrade from the TM21 to the latest model - Quirky Jo and Meganjane spring to mind.  Perhaps they and Dot can tell you if it is worthwhile buying the book or not.
