Sorry but I had a chuckle too. That's what happens when you watch the tennis. If it had been the cricket.................well it finished early so you'd be fine. :D

;D  oh gosh!  I can't laugh!  The other day my daughter brought over a box of tomatoes. I decided to make some passata and when it was nicely settled and cooking away ever so gently I thought I'd check something on the forum . . . . . well . . . . . you know what happens when you get on here.  One thing leads to another . . .to another . . . .. to another . . . .   Well, when I went back into the kitchen it looked like New Years Eve on Mt Vesuvius!  Passata was lovely BTW but it sure took a while to wipe everything down!  Lesson learned!!! (I hope!!) ;D ;D ;D  Fundj's use of the screen came to mind . . . . but a little too late :(

I fully understand that happening goldfish.  You know you should go and check on something but you think, just one more posting which becomes another then another. Nice to hear we are all the same. ;D

This is DD's disastrous birthday cake. This is a double mixture and as you can see it didn't rise at all. The texture was like a mudcake when it should have been light. DD hates cream so the white is mascarpone. When I spread the mascarpone it picked up the sticky crumb from the cake and didn't look at all nice. I served it with berry coulis and the taste was lovely. I've been thinking of what I must have done wrong and the only thing I can think of is that I used plain flour instead of SR.

It's not even a decent photo. I think it was jinxed. :D
is this the Bimby Chocolate cake?
Mine did the same thing.
Refused to rise at all.  >:( Tasted great and was eaten no problem but was more of a mud cake texture and sticky on top.
I served it with ice-cream and told DH & DGS it was choc pudding..   ;)

No it wasn't. I never have problems with this. I actually made this using the mixer as DD often says the texture of TMX cakes is too even. Next time she gets a TMX cake, they rise for me. :D

The smell always let's you know it is too late Mandi ;)

I was making 3 lots of butter this afternoon and had red capsicums grilling at the same time.  Forgot all about them until I this lovely aroma started wafting around the kitchen but as always with roasted capsicums, black is good.
