It startled me a lot - I was actually quite shocked that I didn't hurt myself, but the blade of the knife was stuck in the butter. In the butter's defend, I'd just gotten it out of the fridge, and it was a cheapie knife that was very old.

I probably should have done that. I normally use one of those knives you get from the supermarket, I think they're made by Wiltshire, and they have they're own little sharpeners that they live in. That goes straight through it. But it was dirty, so I just grabbed a knife from the draw.

Not quite as good asa the knife. I was cross as it is one of my favourite spatulas asa it fits in the thermothingy well.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I was trying to scrape out the last bits of the Sweet Bun Loaf I have rising at the moment. The spatula has done a lot of scraping over the years. Lucky I have two more like it in different colours

Cookie, if you turned it 90 degrees clockwise the crack would look like a smile ;D
