The tiling looks great Stef.  Tiling is not my favorite job.

I started using the name tortagianduia about 3 years ago on various forums.  It is shortened from torta alla gianduia (aka Nutella cake!) - the first Nigella recipe I made  :)

At long last - ta da!!!  Photos of the long-awaited new kitchen.  We still have a few little things to do, like buying new dining chairs and new lounge chairs, but at least it is finished enough for me to cook in it now.  YAY!!!  And OMG there are SO MANY drawers to store things in - DH and I are forever losing things.

And my beloved Miele appliances ..... oven, steam oven, coffee machine and warming drawer - along with the pantry.

Very handy knife rack .....

For cookbooks ......

The living room at the other end of the kitchen/dining room ....... new sofas and a rug still to be chosen.

And one of my favourite places in the house - the bay window.  Getting a custom-made cushion to go here at some stage.

Wonderful wonderful Karen. It is fantastic.  You have put a lot of thought  into it not to mention the effort and you are well rewarded.

You lucky lady - what a brilliant kitchen.  I'm curious, though, does your dining table slide into the cabinet next to it?

At long last you have your dream kitchen Karen.  I don't know anyone who could have waited as long as you have so hats off to you and congratulations for finally getting there.  It looks a dream kitchen to work in and I can imagine how much you and DH would be loving it. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures with us.

Yes Marina, the dining table slides in and out of the "slot" under the bench next to it, depending on how many we want to seat.  Fully extended and turned around 90 degrees the table will seat 12 people.  There are 2 little recessed wheels under the legs of one end Of the table to make it easy to move.  The architect thought of that idea, and it is really handy!

Thanks so much Judy. It has been a long time coming, but if I hadn't had to make do with a temporary kitchen for that long, I may never have got  a TMX.  Getting a TMX has changed how we shop, cook and eat - not to mention opened up our lives to new ideas and friends from this forum  :D :-* :-* :-*

Now we will have to find a suitable time for an Adelaide TMX get together at our place  ;D
