Wow all you lovelies have been busy little vegemites - missing the regular contact.  :(

Denzelmum I am so sorry for your pain at the lose of your precious gift.

I sometimes ponder the thought what does a kitchen say about the person - and Maddy your kitchen says it all, an honest reflection of the person we have come to know. MJ you must have been so excited at the installation of your kitchen.  LJ - ahh the peace and tranquility of the view from your kitchen - I am so blessed we have sliding glass doors leading from the kitchen to the deck with a view which overlooks Rockhampton, the reason why my kitchen is so 'open plan'.  Funddj and Frozzie your kitchens scream of excitement telling of a place where it all happens!!!! However Frozzie as result of our DD2 living in London for 2 years, she still works in a minuscule space when she decides to cook when at home. Karen I can only imagine how you must be hanging out for Feb/Mar!!
Thank you all for sharing more of yourself with us - love it!!!!!!  :)  :)

I just can't imagine a man sitting on those chairs, though. Especially not my man!!

LOL.....my hubby looks completely out of place in the whole house  :P  He did try once to add his touch, by way of a horrid fox skin  :o :o :o   *gasp*  I let him admire it for all of 5 minutes, then it was relegated to the shed!

Robyn.....I have serious bench envy!  What a dream that would be  8)

Lellyj.....I love the picture of your kids...always a good sign they will eat their dinner  :D

how did you find so many pink appliances

....I had been collecting appliances, and bits over a period of time.  Some sat in the shed in readiness of my colour change.  Prior to this pink/green theme, everything before was duck egg blue with lots of baltic wood (very country).   I knew one day I would change it all completely  ;)

I do like your pink and green kitchen too.  It is very retro.

I have a friend who owns a Craftsman home in Pasadena, and had the kitchen redone in that same shade of green with cream - exactly as it was originally in the 1920s, with the little black and white hexagon tiles on the floor.
I found several green and cream appliances for her - a mixer, a malt mixer, an electric can opener (from the '50s), as well as a bread box and canisters.
She and I went to an auction where she bought a green and cream enamel and chrome breakfast table and chairs.  The chairs had to be recovered and the chrome redone but the table was almost perfect.

I think colorful kitchens are fun.  I sometimes wish mine was more colorful but it wouldn't fit with the rest of the house.

Here is a couple of pics of my little old kitchen, just before I bought my thermomix.
I have moved things around, updated and added appliances and decor since this picture....bit of a bad habbit of mine  ;)

.....every surface (including benches) has been covered in paint.  The house was built in 1949, and was originally the managers cottage of a large farm, before it was all subdivided.  I often groan how it's tiny, but it really has character and warmth.  Many refer to it as a dolls house  :P

Oh Maddy, I can just picture your home as one of the featured ones of Country Home Ideas. Every month I pour over every picture, every story, every detail of the magazine. Your home would definitely fit right in. I would love to see what the other rooms in your home look like!

Perhaps ask MM to do it for you Cookie.  I'm sure we can't do it.  I think Brazen has done it before with other topics in the past though.
He is looking into it Judy.

I loved reading this thread and getting to know everyone. a bit   I wish now I had thought of a more creative name than simply using my name!   :-\

Awesome kitchens - wow Maddy I just love yours to bits!!  My DH would have a pink fit (no pun intended) if I went with that colour scheme! Mind you, that wouldn't stop me if I decided to do it  ;)

My house was built in 1947 and we have been renovating for about 10 years... it seems never ending but the pool should in by xmas and then it is pretty much finished  :D  I'll clean up the kitchen and post some before and after shots - it was quite a transformation.  Luckily Thermie fits right into my white and stainless steel colour scheme.  I had planned on getting a cobalt blue kitchen aid for my 40th which is in about 10 days but I discovered Thermie.  My friends wanted to all put in for a special piece of jewellry but I asked them to put it towards Thermie.  I am officially a foodie tragic!

Hugs to Denzelmum  :)

LOL.....the trick is to do it all when hubby's at work.....the look of shock and horror is priceless when he walks in the door  :P  gives me a good laugh  ;)

He liked the rangehood :)

I hate it!  It's the original one, so it's just an open hole through the roof.  Any time I cook something on the stove top, it sets off smoke detector around the corner  :-))  I spend more time waving a tea towel to stop the smoke detector screeching, than cooking!
