Hi Dot, It's a big decision but one that's been worthwhile for me. I've learnt so much more by being a consultant, have become more creative in the kitchen. I love my customers and have so far enjoyed every demonstration I've done. The best way to go about it so to contact a Group leader in your area and spend some time chatting to them if they haven't got an open day coming up soon. You'll soon know if you want to  give it a go. There's no obligation. Good luck. I look forward to hearing what you've decided.

Dear Dot,
You've done it and we're with you all the way.  Hope all is well with your delivery and that the Thermomix assists and enriches your life.
Good luck!

Ha ha! Yes I did and I managed to talk someone else into buying one as well. I am still considering the consultant route but for now, I'm one very happy camper with my dream machine sitting on my bench cooking our dinner and bread rolls in the oven.  ;D

I've waiting 4 long years to buy a TMX and after a few days of owning one, I am still pinching myself. I LOVE IT!!

Firstly, Do I have to rely on my own network of friends, etc to host demonstrations, or am I forwarded information of people to contact to host demonstrations for?

Basically, you do, but there is training if you become a demonstrator and at training you are supported to think of people in your circle of influence.

I know I wouldn't be able to sell 6 Thermomixer's in the first 2 months if I had to rely on my own network, because I don't know anyone who has the money or the desire to purchase one.

You don't know that until you try.

I LOVE cooking, but I don't know anyone else who does.
People buy Thermomixes for many different reasons.  Your job as a consultant is just to get out and show it.  The TMX sells itself to the people who need it.

Secondly, what happens if I don't sell the 6 Thermomixer's in the first 2 months? Do I have to pay the balance immediately, or is there some kind of payment plan, or do I continue to host demonstrations / sell Thermomixer's without commission until the balance is paid?
This is a question you should ask at Open Day.  I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that you get the bill at the end of the sixty days, according to how many TMXes you have sold in that time.

I personally haven't attended a demonstration...
If you're thinking of becoming a demonstrator, attending a demonstration or cooking class would be a good idea.  Why not go onto the website and see where the nearest group operates from?  Or make personal contact with a demonstrator and have a demonstration while you are saving up.

Thanks for sharing so openly.  It's great for others to see the decision-making process laid out so clearly.  I hope the answers I've offered have helped in some way.  Please report back if you take it further.  :)  Wishing you well with the savings plan. :)

Gosh, it's been a few months now that I've been a TMX owner and I couldn't be happier. It's been a busy time for me and so I haven't contributed to this forum at all but rest assured that my TMX has been put to good use and I have been known to lurk here on many an occassion.  ;)

I really enjoy visiting this forum and hope to be able to contribute more in future. You've all been so helpfull and kind to me. i really appreciate it.

Now what will I whip up tonight with my chicken fillets? Hmm...  8)

Flavorofthemonth I'm so glad you got your TM and are enjoying it. Like the rest of us it's a daily joy to use the TM and the forum. Don't know what I would do without them both :)
