Awesome Kimmy. I'll bet they tasted good. I haven't made any this Easter. The family said they didn't want them. It feels weird. I might make some Hot Cross Bagels tomorrow.

Thanks ladies. I think DH liked them - one was eaten as soon as I had finished glazing them. A few minutes later I popped out to collect the mail and another one had disappeared 😀

Might make another batch for the in-laws. These would freeze well wouldn't they? Would I need to refresh them in the oven/microwave oven before consuming?

MEP, if you are going to freeze them, don't glaze them as the. Glaze goes white when reheated.

I've made the hot cross buns from the chip and frozen them - I take one out each morning to put in my daughter's lunch box. I also reheat them in our sandwich press. No problems with the glaze when I do that.

I do t glaze mine if I am going to freeze them. It seems to make them so sticky.

Thanks for all your advice ladies. I've put four in the freezer that had already been glazed but next time I will try not glazing before freezing. I do love the sheen/gloss on the buns from the glaze though.

I would like to make a batch of hot cross buns to take to work on Thursday. Has anyone tried making the dough the night before using less yeast and leaving it in the fridge over night?
