OMG I cannot believe it. My
For Foods Sake
arrived today and it is just beautiful. I told my DH just pick a page and I will go shopping for the ingredients. I love EVERY recipe. Soooooo simple.
This is without a doubt the best ever
Thermomix
cookbook .
Tenina has done a wonderful job and I am so happy that I bought it even though I was never going to buy another cookbook. Now I want the iPad app for it for my shopping . LOL!
I am so pleased that Tenina is now with
us
, the actual users of the Thermomix, and so can let her imagination fly. I do not expect that she will get as far as Cairns with her cooking classes but if she ever comes to Brisbane I would fly down to meet her and enjoy her class.
Thank you Tenina. You are becoming a legend in the Thermomix World and it is well deserved
Thermomix Australia should be supporting you big time as you are promoting and "selling" their machine. No doubt we will be seeing Grace on TV next year telling us how many more millions she has made with the help of the expert enthusiasts, her own hard working, and doubtless under paid, consultants as well as our wonderful forum members spreading the word. Good luck to her for bringing it to Australia in the first place but good luck to us for making it so popular.

What a day. Spent it reading every page. Newly enthused and with a moderate shopping list to do tomorrow. Beef and ale pie is the first request of course even though it is 32 degrees today.
I am excited

I am sooooo delighted that you are so happy with the book. I loved doing it of course, it was the book I dreamt of producing the whole time I worked at you know where, but just couldn’t make it happen. Of course now I am free, I am also broke, so hoping your enthusiasm translates to sales…YAY…I am well underway with the next project and Gert, I will come to Cairns any time you can get 20 crazy thermomix fans in the one room! hahaha

Tenina I am delighted to have a reply from you. I would love to get 20 people together if I I knew twenty people who owned one. The problem up here is they only have Back to Basics classes ad infinitum. Boring as dog poo when you have owned your machine for a few years. No point in going to the same thing over and over is there? That is why I don't meet anyone new.
Cyndi O'Meara came up a while ago. The large venue was full but it turned out to be more or less a vehicle for sales of her books . Lovely and knowledgeable as she is, there was nothing new in the class. My friends and I enjoyed it but did not learn much about how creative you can be with the Super Kitchen Machine.
I get that the basics are important but look at the yummy "basics " you have created. This is what is needed . Surely there is room for both. There are so many creative consultants about and those on the forum are exceptional. Many go above and beyond the same old stuff. I fear they are being stifled by the "elephant in the room". OK I'll say it, Thermomix Head Office. I have friends in Sydney who would love to be able to "create" like you have done. Sadly they too feel they might have to leave to be able to move the Thermomix into the real world of fun and excitement in the kitchen.
Australia is a forward looking country. We take to new things and run with it. You have done that. I salute you for taking the risks and also for working so hard. Many of us hope you do well and make some real MONEY! I understand you sell value added stuff at your cooking classes like the Crio Bru. Just think how thrilled the consultants would be if they were allowed to mention and sell your books the Crio Bru some nifty brushes and Helene's magical spatulas at their demos and cooking classes. It could also, supplement their incomes.
Thermomix can certainly market their product anyway they want but for goodness sake a little, sharing and common sense would go a long way in the good will department. In Australia, at least, they should know we will always support and cheer on the underdog. The very idea that your name is not to be mentioned, that you have become an anathema, as my Sydney friends and consultants have told me , is to us Aussies unfair in the extreme. [No they are not on this forum so stop looking. LOl! In fact they are lying very low. ]
Thank goodness for this forum where we can all join in, voice our opinions and recipe reviews in a friendly way, with people from all over the world. It amazes me every day . Let us all just play nice eh?
You go girl.

Thanks Judy. Sometimes you just have to get that soapbox out and stand up and be counted. I don't know all the ins and outs but I think it could get very unpleasant for some people which is a shame. All those lurkers out there know and I think we have lost some really good consultants on the forum who are put off saying something about anything here. Even some with personal blogs are being scrutinised. That would definitely be a deal breaker with me. I am glad I moved out of Sydney to the far far north.
Hopefully they can work it out in their big heels up in Hawaii next month. Them that is allowed to go that is.
So how are things in Adelaide this summer? I am due for a trip down there soon. Might come in April just to go to the Smelly Cheese Stall in the markets. If Tenina does a class in Adelaide let me know. Only 3 1/2 hours from here.

Oh Meganjane you will not be disappointed if only for the garlic paste and dried chicken stock. Good basics.

Will always support tenina 😃😃😃.. Love her work!! Keep the projects coming ...
And for HO to go that far really is pathetic... Tenina is after all promoting and encouraging sales and getting people to use their kitchen wonders... Oh well their loss... Sad really!

Thanks Gert, you are hilarious and I would absolutely love to meet you more than ever after all that! Still chuckling!
I enjoyed my 3 years with Thermomix, I learnt so much in that job, that I can now do what I am doing with a certain amount of confidence. I certainly learnt how to put a cookbook together, I learnt so much about cooking that I am amazed, I learnt how to write a clear recipe (though some recent comments would have you believe otherwise - see Chicken Pinwheels review!!!) I learnt to love lots and lots of people mostly whom I have never met across the country and I learnt a lot about myself that I didn’t know, which is why I am out on my own now doing what I do love to do. Thanks to all for all the support and to have you love my work with such glowing reviews such as I am reading, is SO rewarding. If it wasnt for those darn 5 kids needing piano lessons, schooling, cars, clothes, food etc and me needing the occasional trip, I could do it all for free! (But don’t tell my husband I said so!)
I regret nothing. I look forward, having learnt from what has been.

Well Tenina you have to take to so so reviews with the good ones. You live and you learn and writing a cookbook is not so easy. Being able to take criticism with a smile is something we all should be able to do. Sometimes it is warranted and usually with good intentions. Some people are just better at rolling than others. [take note Judy!]
You know the old saying about being givien lemons and lemonade. We love your lemonade just fine.
Be grateful the kids didn't want drum lessons. There would be no peace in that.
Maybe we will meet someday. If not there is always this place to share a cuppa or a glass of.
