So sad this morning.. I found out tht this weekend a liitle 8yo boy died after trying to wlk on the iced over lake(well mini lake) in town and fell through... So very sad and makes me a little angry that kids arent more aware of the dangers around water.. Should never have happened ..

On a happier note got dh to the docs and the kids to school this morning with only minimal sliding... Had more trouble getting in nd out of the drive so spent this morning digging it all out and clearing the drive... Who needs a gym!

That is so sad Frozzie, my heart breaks every time I hear of things like this. Such a hard hard thing for families to go through. Very very sad.

I'm glad you got to the doctors and the kids to school ok.

That's so sad to hear Kim.

On a lighter note though, it is good to hear you are toning the muscles moving snow, someone has to do it and it obviously it isn't going to be DH for a while.  How did he get on at the doctor's today.  Any improvement?

My DH knows all about a bad back ( sure I read somewhere that you DH had a bad back) my DH had 3 months off work with a squashed vertebrae. He was using 2 walking sticks to be able to walk just a short distance. Was horrible for him. He end up changing jobs to something not involving so much physical lifting. It almost broke us and took us months to catch up.
Hope your DH gets better soon and takes it easy.

Thanks dede... Yes he has a herniated disc so its going o take time... Thankfully for the moment no probs with his income.. Just a slight cutback first month as over here you lose first three days of salsry when sick... Think its to deter throwing a sickie but other than that its all good but its the not knowing how long its going to to take until he gets better...

This afternoon the kids and i went and threw some snow around... The kids had a ball as they love playing in the snow and i guess who doent lol but im still not looking forward to tomorow... Driving in it and probable icy nightmare..we will see in a few hours...

I definitely don't miss the snow!  Had my share of freezing days, icy roads and sludge when the snow starts melting... without counting frozen feet, even in snow boots!  Much prefer aussie winters  :)
Kim take care on the road.  Hopefully your "mairie" is efficient and roads are getting cleared, salted/ sanded.

Def with you there carine... Im not loving the ice and snow... Good for about 5 mins then the amusement wears off... On the way home from school a large van slid off the road and into the large fausse (dip/drain on the side of te road) and two hours layer they are still trying to get i out... Truck just arrived after the tractor failed... The fun of icy roads ...

Frozzie I am pleased to read that your DH has shown some improvement. Obviously snow has lots of drawbacks. I think I'll stick with the heat.
Reading about the little boy on the lake was so sad. :'(

Gosh there really is a serene beauty in all these photos!  Something that would be very unique to experience as well.  :)

I'm so sorry to hear about the young lad Frozzie.  So unfair.  :( :(

Sometimes I curse the humidity but I think I'd struggle to live anywhere it snowed like that!  :-\
