Judy, I just had a taste of just the maca powder on its own and it's revolting to put it mildly!  ;D, so it's not added for any nice flavour, obviously just the health benefits.  So I would just leave out if unable to buy any.

Frozzie, I've read that if you can't get fresh lime leaves use lots of finely grated lime zest in place of.  That's what I do as I can't get fresh leaves here either.  I zest 1 or 2 limes.   :)

Are the kaffir lime leaves in a jar any good?

I would only be making the energy bars as a treat Julie so I would leave the Maca out.  I'd be dangerous if I had too much energy ;D

Can you get kaffir lime leaves as a paste??  I have only seen the leaves themselves in small jars CC.

I've just ordered a tree from our local Nursery.  They hope they will arrive at the end of March, early April.

My brother has a curry leaf tree so we'll be able to swap when needed.  ;D

julieO, do you know how big the trees are? Are they a full size like an actual lime tree? We have a lime tree going crazy in our back yard but would love to have Kaffir leaves on hand.

The tree will grow  to about 1.5 metres and the limes are as useful as the leaves.

Wonder, here are a couple of sites regarding lime trees.  I will probably grow mine in a pot, my lemon tree that I potted a few months ago is growing really well.  :D

I made these today using the recipe on Tenina's website as I don't have the book.

I'm not sure what went wrong but the nut mixture was a little crumbly. Then when I ended up putting the ganache on top about a day after, that ended up cracking on top. Is it just me or what could it be?

The only changes I made were not putting in macca powder as don't have any and putting almonds in with their skin on.

Help!

Still yummy though.
