I have just clicked on the link.. The deal is still on. I even navigated back to their home page, clicked on 'hot deals' and it is still on. I am in Sydney so I don't know if that makes any difference? 19 sold now.

So it is. They must have a few in stock. Wonder if any of the new TM owners will join this forum?

The price also went up to $999 :(. I contacted my friends daughter as she has been using her mothers thermi and would absolutely love one. She was so excited and was going to check it out. If she buys one I'll keep you all updated.

I mentioned this to a friend who has spent the last six months in Hong Kong and she said she spend almost an entire day in the China Resources department store that has two floors of nothing but techie electronics and one floor of kitchen and household electronics.
She says she saw a Thermomix that was like mine and it was priced at 8000.00 Hong Kong dollars that would be approximately $1000.00 U.S. dollars and they were offering free shipping to the U.S. and were offering both 110 and 220 electrics.
That's 400.00 less than I paid to the Canadian company.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with our prices if this company is going to import from Asia at more realistic prices. If it's not the flash in the pan Bellini, it's the real thing which is going to cause headaches for HO.  These machines will sell like hot cakes if the deal is the real thing.

I have been watching this thread and seems the company is based in an industrial park area.

They have answered a few questions stating that the items are Australian voltage and meet all the Australian standards. They are still yet to confirm whether it has the 2 year warranty and on that note I am waiting before purchasing one.

My only worry with someone buying one of these is, would HO refuse to fix them (even at owner's cost) should anything go wrong with them because they weren't purchased from TM Aust?  It's not exactly something you could take anywhere to get fixed I don't think.

Those are my exact thoughts, JulieO.  If these people are bringing them into Australia I should imagine they would have to accept the obligations and responsibility of servicing any warranty claims.  I doubt HO would want anything to do with it.

Would be interesting to see how many forumers have required repairs to their Thermomixes since owning?

I am not averse to purchasing things from overseas at my own peril but the $$ has to be right to do so. I wonder as a registered Australian business if they would have to honour any warranty commitments?

I have one in my 'basket' and at the checkout ready to pay. They accept Pay Pal so surely this is legit as I am protected by Pay Pal right?

I already have a TM but want a second bowl and blades set but a second Thermie would be even better.

Re PayPal:  I have heard some people say you are protected by both and the bank coughed up when PayPal didnt. I have also heard from bank workers that you don't get protection from then as your dealing is through PayPal- you authorized the bank to give paypal money to pass on. They did so. Therefore the bank owes you nothing as you got service you paid for.

The warranty is with Vorwerk not Grace Mazur.

I had a fraudulent Paypal incident occur where they took nearly  $700 out of my account. ANZ refunded it immediately when I told them the story but PayPal are still, chasing me for the money. This is not unusual  according to my bank.  payPal is still unable to tell me what I purchased in the US while I was soundly sleeping in my bed in AU.  We have had many interesting exchanges  of emails and voice conversations.

If you report it immediately the bank can put it back into your account. If it has passed 5 days they cannot I was told.
