TMX recipe books - which ones?

Hi all,

I only have the EDC cookbook, which I love and wish to get some more books.  I had a look on the TMX website but am finding it hard to decide which ones to select.

We are a family of 4, I work and I am really after EDC type recipes that are both tasty but at the same time easy to prepare.  Which of the books come closer to meeting those needs?

The uk TMX has far better recipes which actually work - I found you had to tweak quite a lot of the Aust edc book recipes. Also, the Aust one uses far too much sugar and fat for my liking. Of course, another way of finding out which books would work for you is to check out the recipe reviews from the various cookbooks on this site. HOWEVER, having said all this my main inspiration for recipes comes from this forum!!!!!

With regard to thermomix cookbooks- I woud recommend  Meat on the Menu (MOTM), the Indian one , the lunchbox booklet as well as budget busters. I have the gluten free one which I use a lot. If you like Asian food the Asian cookbook is also worthwhile. My way of Cooking is also useful but I find I don't use it as much as the other ones I mentioned.

The other cookbook I use a lot is the dinner spinner recipes app (on my iPad) via iTunes store as well as quick fix in the Thermomix. I haven't bought for foods sake yet! My husband will get a heart attack if he sees me buying any more  cookbooks!
Ultimately a lot of my recipes come from this forum anyway.

Same here Obbie. I only have the EDC and use this forum for most of my recipes. Not only do you get tried and trusted recipes, you get help and advise from wonderful people. No cookbook does that

I agree that the forum and EDC are very good stepping stones but there are some serious cookbook addicts around (definitely including myself) and I couldn't live  if I didn't buy regular cookbooks, that is, as long as I can hide them from my DH. My latest buy was the Women's weekly "food for friends" which includes the famous Spag bolognese recipe from Pete Evans. I am hoping to try a few converted recipes and post them when I'm happy with the results.

Same here, Merlin.  Oh, the joys of buying cookery books and wondering how I am going to smuggle them into the house
