Day 3 and still going strong
Love this warm weather.
Actually, it's only day two - I counted the start day.
All well and good though.

Do you reckon it would make a difference if I fast forward 1 day? I want to give out the starters on Australia Day.

I would think as long as Herman is fed and kept warm in the right conditions he should be fine to bring him forward one day Michele

You were better planned than you thought Michele, what a great idea to give Herman out when you have a houseful of visitors. I hope you have enough to go around.

I've completely lost the plot. I need medicating.
I went back to CC's photorial and day 1 is the day you mix the yeast, warm water and flour. So today is day 4 and Australia Day will be day 10.
No matter I will work it out get up early and bake a cake to divide up for folk that can't commit to Herman.

Herman is doing so well - a very proud mama here.
He's been fed and as CC did I warmed his milk so as he won't catch a chill. I only put half the amount of sugar in as everyone has commented what a sweetie Herman is.
As I will be going a day over now - well that's my calculation for today anyway - hopefully the pills will kick in soon and the dementia will be kept at bay - I'm going to feed Herman again on day 7 but only half the amounts of flour and milk and a quarter of the sugar as Herman is obviously sweet enough.

Here' Herman or what's left of him. Forum won't let me post a photo of the entire cake.
It's a lovely moist cake - everyone enjoyed it. It was hard to give the starter away though. Could only give one away.
So I have 2 left which I will combine into one and start again.
