I hope it will be nice and simple Michelle and they offer me some work. Biggest problem being my availability I guess. 14 years ago this group had 6 group homes (I wonder how many they have now?)

Weekends are only attractive to mums with young kids. I'm 52 and myself and my co-workers want to be off weekends. You certainly have a weekend place to fill. If you want this position you've got it.

Don't know what happened there. Have been trying to post a photo for Maddy and it turned up here.

Lol, sometimes these computers do strange things. There's a gremlin hiding somewhere.
Will keep you posted on the third job thing. I will leave DH to mull it over for a few hours.

Dede, have you told your husband that you want to go back to work for yourself and not just the money?

Why don't you discuss with your husband a period of time that you can give it a try and then review - say after 3 months.  If it's really not working out for the whole family then you can always resign.

I wouldn't worry too much about availability at this stage - you are happy to work long shifts on a weekend which is a plus.  But I think employers can always workaround flexibility issues if they find someone who is reliable and responsible and competent at their job.

No not really Snappy, didn't get much of a chance as when I mentioned it he said 'NO I don't want you doing that cause you do to much already'
But I have asked him to just think about it cause it could be a good thing for us all.

It's not that he won't let me work, but more that he thinks I'm going to be taking on too much. But I think it would be a good thing.

I would explain that this is not something extra that you will be taking on but it is something you actually want to do!  I know I work because I really enjoy the mental stimulation and the social aspect of it - when we had both boys in daycare it meant that we didn't really make a huge amount of money.

But my husband knew this was something I wanted to do and has been really supportive of this.  I know if I didn't like the job and was only doing it for the money he would prefer me to stay at home

Well Snappy I just spoke to DH and he was very supportive of a trial run to see how I go, a bit of time thinking about it has made him understand where I'm coming from. I'm actually excited about it now.

Now to get my application letter sorted and resume up dated. Pretty sure I have it on my computer so will be easy to update. ;)

Thanks guys for your input.

Yes true Hally.
But I'm getting a bit ahead of my self here. I haven't got the job yet, and they are not that easy to come by these days, even people with all the qualifications don't always get the job.
Better not get to excited yet.

All the best dede, whatever decision you make.  I guess you'll never know until you have a go!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Good luck Dede. Hope this or something just as perfect comes through for you. And that it fits for you and your family.
