WA Retreat Weekend

This afternoon, I started wrapping up my goodie bag items, and realised that they will take up a fair bit of space in my bag as I dont want to crush them. I've also got to allow for my dress up and some warm clothes. Perhaps I need to buy a luggage allowance on the plane instead of just carry on?

Sue would they Be  less bulky  if you did not assemble them before hand?

The goodies are going to take a fair bit of space.  Clothes will just have to fit in around the goodies.   I have started making a pile of things to take.  We have a luggage allowance,  but we are coming for 10 days and will be visiting friends who live in Perth.  I have only just told DH about the dress up.  He is going to make a small effort,  but then so am I.  Have started the count down.  Stopping the mail tomorrow,  bought extra chook food, ( thank heavens for the automatic waterer). Booked the car in at Andrews Parking.  Bought a good  Thriller to read on plane.  ' Istanbul Passage'. Hate Plane travel. Only 6 more sleeps.

Gert, the chooks can look after themselves for 2/3 weeks.   However the family visit and check them out for us.  They have avery large , fully enclosed cage with automatic water and food.  The kids call it the ' Chicken Hilton'.

Thank goodness for that. One lessthing I have to worry about.

Friday is sun 23
Saturday sun 25

Good idea to chck it closer to the time brfore you guys pack. 23 is nice in perth in the sun.

Uni,  we have 7 Isa Brown chooks.   They lay 6 eggs every day.  They do this for a year,  then second year will lay 4/5 a day,  the 3 rd. year 2/3 a day.  We don't kill them.  They die of old age.  We give a lot of eggs away.  People often give us something in return,  although we don't expect this.  We always have fresh eggs and they are not much cheaper than the cheapest we could buy,  but they eat the kitchen scraps and lots of greens from the garden.  The GC love them.  We have kept chooks for about 40 years.

Thanks for the forecast Hally, how good does that look.  Hope it stays that way - it will make for a perfect weekend to be out and about.  Will stick pack the brolly though

I have visions of achookwomans chook pen full of eggs when she returns  I'm sure that's not the case and you have someone collect them - I wish it was me!

I'm sure it will be cold at night and in the mornings Gretchen but if the sun is out during the day, our trip down south and the bus trip on Saturday will be perfect. I had read this place gets a lot of rain during the winter months so if the long term forecast stays as Hally has written, we are very lucky indeed.
