I use an iPad and iphone app called 'Paprika'. When I find a recipe to try from this forum or the internet, I copy and paste it into a category called 'to try'. If we love the result, my dh and I officially claim 'its going straight to the pool room' (you needed to see the movie The Castle to see the humor in this) and then it gets moved from 'to try' category to whatever category applicable to the recipe eg 'cakes' or whatever.  I got rid of my ring binders as it was getting out of hand ( i was too slack to file them) and I love the paperless aspect. I still buy magazines occasionally and rip out the ones I want to try and keep these in one plastic folder/sleeve (so I'm not completely paperless), but mainly browse the net for recipes these days. The paprika app is awesome to use in the kitchen the screen stays on, and I can edit the recipes and save them if needed. Then it syncs to my phone so I can see any recipe while I'm out when I need ingredients. So now I have my digital evolving cook book which I browse through when I want to plan meals. You can rate recipes, export them or email them to friends and even include a photo. It's not for every body but I love this system and never forget the best recipes as I always have the pool room to go to :)

Hally you can add a tag in the third box at the top when inputting in Evernote. Just type and press enter then later you can search by tag words. I have started tagging with "to try" as I put recipes in but never make them lol.

I have folders and folders of recipes printed out and taken from magazines. Not very environmentally friendly but great to browse through. I would like to have a spiral book like CP's. Maybe CP will bring it along to the WA weekend away.

next time we go to the park for a get together, I will bring my spiral bound book of favourite recipes to show you. It takes up less room than a lever arch file, and I use it every day.

could you please bring this to the weekend retreat  if possible as l would love to see it too

Thank you everyone.

I have purchased  paprika app, hoping it works better for me than evernote. Hope to be able to have a file for recipes i like from forum & my books.

See how it goes.

Ok, have just started with paprika. Lots to do to set up, but I think its the best so far.

I have my menu plan fr  the week up. Linked to the recipe or where the recipe comes from.

At this stage only putting recipes on we love & will use again. Slowly taking them of evernote.

This mornng I have gone through FFS & listed under the category FFS recipe & pg number if I want to make again. So each time I make a recioe from this book or any book, it will be under the cookbook title, recipe name & pg number. I might even take a photo of the recipe & add it. Lots of work, slow process but when its done it will be great, just what I want.

Thank you Kulsha

Paprika is goid but you cant add more than one photo so if you have step by step with photo recipes you cant add them and recipes only so e erything else needs to be somewhere lse.. Main plus is you cn use paprika off line but definatly limited imo.

Hally it would be uicker to recopie hem from the forum via the browser window than copying all from evernote..

With the TMX recipes, it goes on Evernote...if i make it more than once and is a keeper, goes in living cookbook. For recipes from books I have discovered putting removable 3M tabs with the name of recipe on the top of  the page works a treat.

Is there a way of importing the recipe directly from the forum into Living Cookbook . . . or do you have to type it out?  Haven't quite figured it out yet ???

That's great news Halex! Persevere with it, it takes awhile to set up but will save you heaps of time in the future. I've been using it for months and  use it daily now and it makes life soooo much easier. I enjoy adding more to my 'to try' category, I just roughly copy paste the whole recipe in the description area and only spend time to tidy and edit (and assign a category) it if it's a 'keeper'.

Most of the recipes I follow are pretty easy so haven't found this a major prob that you only can add one pic. But it would be awesome if they upgraded the app to include this too!

Goldfish you can copy and paste directly from the forum, or any internet site, into Living Cookbook.  From my limited trial with LC I  remember learning how to do this from one of their tutorials that you can access via the program or their web site.  It is very easy to transfer the recipes, but I found editing the transferred recipes very frustrating, which is why I didn't buy the program in the end.

Hello from a newbie.
I am bamboozled with recipes and only studied forum for 3 weeks while waiting to join. Already forgotten where to find one or 2 I liked. So I can imagine as long standing members it must be so much worse.
Can't print as no printer at home.
Probably buy paprika tmro. never bought an app before and only have old pc outside, not a mac.

Will let u know how I get on.

GF - have you purchased the full version of the program or are you using the trial version at the moment?  I'd be interested to hear how you get on.
