What does everyone think?

Brilliant idea Hally. There are so many delicious recipes, it's hard to know where to start.
-
Thanks Merrilyn, i have been drooling over quite a few, have a few copied to paprika on my ToTry list. So hoping to do at least one per week. Also good to liven up our meals a bit with some changes.
H :)
-
Ok H I have a hunk of rump in the fridge. Not inspired today but if you come across one recipe for me I will make it today.
Gert
-
Gert, I have this one in my to try list! But this one was reviwed in May, the others I have are much older but chicken.
Name of Recipe: Peppery Herb Crusted Steak (adapted from losebabyweight.com.au)
Posted by Tasty
-
Ok H I can do that one for sure. You want me to make the béarnaise sauce as well or another one?
I have one big flattish piece to share so it would do well with this recipe.
Gert
-
Gert, whatever you want :) its your dinner, sounds really tasty.
Next week I will do Frozzies Chicken Normandy.
H :)
-
This sounds like a great idea Hally. I'd love to join in :D Should we post on this thread when we choose a recipe to try?
Maybe we could do the same thing with all the other sections later on too? :)
-
Yes lets post in here what we are making, then review it under its thread.
Yes we could go through all the sections one by one :D
:)
-
Haven't made bearnaise in a while so why not?
Gert
-
Have fun ;D
:)
-
Great idea Hally - if we all do an old one, imagine how many more reviews will be available for others.
-
Superb idea, hally. Have just bumped Johnro's Gourmet Beef. Family loves this one Won't be able to make it today but bumping it will bring it to the attention of others. . :D
-
Crusted and ready to go. Helene's spatula perfect for crusting.

Looking good Gert :)
-
I've picked out 7 recipes which I'm going to add to our meal plans in the next couple of weeks. I'm very excited ;D
-
This is a really good idea. Sadly, I won't join in as I have to send TC back as I'm having problems with the temperature control, and have been told that it will take about 2 weeks. Not sure how I'm going to cope without it as I use it ALL the time. I still have my old food processor and mix master, and of course I still have my pressure cooker.
-
Great idea Hally.
I am about to do a menu plan....
-
I'm going to try cream of zucchini soup. Juliababilla posted and it and she hasn't tested it either.
Sounds yummy and I have the ingredients.
-
I can't wait to hear your review of that one Michele. I love zucchini :D
-
Amy, do you want to post the recipes you are going to try & I can put them at the front.
Sounds like a few of us have got in board :)
ES, sorry to hear about TC, bummer >:(
H :)
-
Eating my herb steak now. Post soon.
-
Looking forward to the review Gertie ;D
Hally, I will be trying Judy's Chicken and Almonds tomorrow night, and then farfallina's Apple and Pear Chicken on Wednesday night. I'll try to include two new recipes in my menu plan each week and let you know as I go. Is that okay? :)
-
Done . Now going to post review.
Gert
-
Count me in Halex :) I will make Riv Mum's Thai Chicken Salad later this week and also a soup - will depend what's left in the fridge. Will have a good look through the soup recipes.
Great idea!
-
I'm going to do Riv Mum's Thai chicken and snow peas (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2686.0). I've put in on the list myself Hally.
-
In the next few weeks I have bookmarked two soups of Judydawn's to make - potato and corn soup and Moroccan carrots and lentil soup. Soups were easy to pick :)
-
I'm going to do Riv Mum's Thai chicken and snow peas (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2686.0). I've put in on the list myself Hally.
That one is on my list too Judy :D Probably for next week's menu. I'm looking forward to your review if you cook it before me ;)
-
Ok Hally count me in. I'll have aloof and find something and then add it in.
-
Great idea! I'll have a look back through and let you know what I'm making.
EmeraldSue, I'm so sorry that your Thermo Chef is in for repair. From what I've read on the forum, everyone who has one is having problems with them. At least the service is good.
OK, I'm going to make Paul Granger's Chicken Pie (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1018.0). It was posted by Thermomixer back in May 2009.
Hmm, had another look and it doesn't appear to be a TMX recipe at all. I'll keep looking...
Right, have found Chelsea's Versatile Beef Stew (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3594.0). There's not a lot of comment on it, so I'll make it and get the ball rolling again.
I'll also make Farfallina's Aromatic Chicken (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3605.0)
-
Hally - have bumped Beef & Guinness Stew and Baf's Chicken in the Varoma :D
-
Goldfish, they are 2 of my favourites...
-
I'm still working through these and getting them into mastercook format...hopefully I'll be finished by the end of the week if work stops getting in the way.
-
I have three pork loin chops and can't find a suitable old recipe from the forum. anyone remember any thing suitable I could review?
Then I found yet another hump of rump that has to be removed from my freezer on the way to the duck.
Did the peppery herb roasted yesterday. Maybe there is a ragout no one has done recently.
I'll keep looking. Anything on your list H?
Gert
-
H what about this one? Hasn't been done in a long time. http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4753.0
Easy Beef Rendang. Might be good for those experience some cold weather.
Gert
-
I'd like to help too .. Will look through and see what I can find that matches what I have in stock, then report back in a bit ;)
-
I can do this too.
Chicken Kiev for dinner tonight from here.
-
I went back and selected my recipe that saw that MJ has chosen it too. I'm still doing it so we can compare results. I've added it in Hally.
I've changed my mind seeing MJ is doing the same. I'll do Judy's Chicken Cacciatore Casserole.
-
Hmm, most of them have meat and I'm a veggie .. Keen to try Dashingden's African Quinoa Stew, Depome's Budget Meatless Fajitas, farfallina's Pasta Sauce with Sun-Dried Tomatoes, & achookwoman's Dhal - that should cover me for the rest of the week & following week-end lol ;)
-
Made the cream of zucchini soup - very nice and got the nod of approval from DH as well.
-
Gert, the rendang looks god. I saw a pork recipe on here. Will look for you
:)

Must be good then Michele ;) I'm looking forward to trying it too :D
I'm so excited, I'm actually counting down the hours until dinner when I can make the Chicken and Almond dish.... I'll start cooking in 3 hours and 40 minutes ;D
-
Gert, the rendang looks god. I saw a pork recipe on here. Will look for you
:)
Found a stray can of pears I have no idea about in the pantry. I certainly have never bought canned pears. Anyway also found some mystery meat bits in the freezer so cooked a bit in the microwave just to see what it was and turned out to be pork so cut all the pork up and added it to the meat from the chops. Tossed in the pear halves added some orange juice cinnamon, brown sugar. Poured some sherry over the top And baked the lot for about 40 minutes.
So pork is gone.
Gert
-
Just when I had about 5 recipes ;D

Damn! that sounds good, Gert! Have you tasted it yet? sounds as though it would be good the day after as well . . .
-

Bugger.i did look but did not find so made it up but it wasn't for the TMX. Ah well soon I will shop for some meat but look up some old recipes first. Any interesting pork ones?

I found a huge (800gm) can of peach halves in my pantry and also a pkt of lady finger biscuits. I have a vague recollection I bought them at Christmas time to make a pavlova. We have a family lunch planned for next Sunday so will actually be making pav for dessert.
-
Yes a few, they start from around page 5 & go to page 23. I will do a few over this month.
H :)
-
Amazing what you find in the pantry.
Gert
-
Well I am trying to clear it out a bit. I could be there for the next 12 months.
-
I think my cear out will be 12-24 months :)
-
I have just printed some more..
-
Amazing what you find in the pantry.
Gert
Mouse poo :o
-
Judy's Chicken and Almonds.... ;D
Well, for a start some noddy in this house ate all the almonds without telling me >:(
So I had to use cashews.
But apart from that, I followed the recipe exactly, and it was Y.U.M. I'll definitely make it again :D
Sorry the photo is a bit blurry :-))
-
I made Judydawn's potato and corn soup today. It is really soup weather and it went down very well. My husband kept saying lovely, as he was eating it :)
I'll have to make a dish from the Main meal section next. Just reread the title of the thread :)
-
Have just finished lunch of Easy Beef Rendang so will go over that's and Tapatalk and give it a bump up.
Gert
-
I just did farfallina's Apple and Pear chicken...
It was sensational. Absolutely the most beautiful meal I've had in a very long time. I urge people to try this recipe. It is DIVINE.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
Amazing what you find in the pantry.
Gert

Cookie Chicken Cacciatore Casserole) list Hally? It would take a while and I haven't got time right now. Everyone seems to be listing their meal here on this thread then going over to the original recipe and posting a review which then bumps the recipe for others. I'll see what I can do later today/tonight - my quiet day has just got busier with a phone call and visitors coming this afternoon now.
-
No pressure if you dont have time, just thought it would be good

I have just made my chicken cacciatore. I'm on the iPad so will put the link in later. Here's (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?action=search2) the link to the recipe. It tastes lovely. The only problem I had was that mine caught a tiny bit on the bottom, but not enough to worry about. I'm now going to try and photograph it with the iPad.
-
Yippee. I think I did it. Wow I love this iPad. No stopping me now.
-
That looks very yummy Cookie.
The weather here is rainy and quite cool - good weather for cacciatore.
-
Bumping this back up.
Anyone have any recipes to add or have cooked?
:)
-
Good timing in the bump Hally, I'm doing Chinese Cashew Turkey and Broccoli tonight ;D
I can't remember who's recipe it is but there aren't any reviews on it.
-
I've made the Thai Chicken & Snowpeas but was very disappointed. Will post a review with the recipe. (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2686.0)
-
That one was on my list too Judy, but I don't think I'll make it after reading your review... :-\
-
I was hoping someone would Amy - then I'll find out if it's just me or not ;D
-
Okay Judy, you've talked me into it :)
I'll put it on the menu for next week ;)
-
Sorry Hally, I didn't get to do the Chinese cashew turkey and broccoli dish tonight, but I will do it tomorrow instead :)
-
Okay Hally, I've cooked the Chinese Cashew Turkey and Broccoli. Here's a photo and I will post a review on the thread :)
-
Another for you Hally, CarolineW's Citrus Chevron Chops :)
I'll post a review on that thread.
-
Looks good Ames. How is the studying going?
-
Thanks Mumma Mich :D
The studying is going slow. I'm getting stuck on all the business and marketing stuff. Its not my strong point :(
-
I like being mother mich.
-
Thats good :) You can be my Mother Mich ;D
-
Looks good, Amy, just added it to the front :)
-
Thanks Hally, I've been trying to do one every week ;)
-
You are a good girl.
I am trying to use up pantry items.
Not going down though, sure my tins are breeding ???
H :)
-
:) :) :)
I tend to use up too many pantry items, and then I have nothing to add to meals :-))
I've heard that tins can breed, sneaky things ;)
-
Tins breed here too.
-
Silicone muffin tins (are they tins? ??? ) brred here - into all different shapes and sizes!! ;)
-
l think that the dirty washing pile breed here
(l think that they want a hot bath so they jump out of the wardrobe and into the laundry basket )
-
Silicone muffin tins (are they tins? ??? ) brred here - into all different shapes and sizes!! ;)
LOL Astarra, I wish I could breeed those. We only have a couple of old, normal shape and size Texas muffin tins :-))
l think that the dirty washing pile breed here
(l think that they want a hot bath so they jump out of the wardrobe and into the laundry basket )
;D ;D ;D
-
Dirty washing pile... LOL :)
If you want you muffin tins to breed, just look on ebay Amy - there might be something for infertile muffin tins there..... ;)
-
Oh no... me on ebay could be very dangerous for my bank balance Astarra ;D
-
I'm sure my tomato tins have been breeding whilst I've been doing the shopping challenge. I haven't bought any for at least 6 weeks, but I reckon I've used up at least 10 in the last 6 weeks. I wonder if there are any left? My tin cupboard is still full!
-
I think I'm down to my last 4 tins of tomatoes. Feels good.
-
I still have about 6 tins of tomatoes..
-
I bought 3 this week and have just used 2 in a slow cooker casserole.
-
I like tinned tomatoes. They're cheap, versatile and very healthy if you can get ones with no added salt :D
-
I am down to my last 2 >:(
I use them all the time.
H :)
-
Yep I have heaps of tins of tomatoes as well. I use them in lots of dishes. :) and they are cheap.
-
I am down to my last 2 >:(
I use them all the time.
H :)
Time to restock the pantry Hally? :-))
-
you dont want to know how many 400 grams zip lock bags of cooked tomatos that l have in the freezer that we grew last summer
-
Nazar can you tell me how you cooked them for freezing? I got so many tomatoes in my weekly fruit/veg box this week and i don't want them to go to waste.
-
l am lazy . l just chop up chunky style and put into a big pot on stove and cook until they are soft , sometimes l add fresh basil and parsley if l have it from my garden and use these lots for spag bog
l dont peel them as l dont mind the skin . l store them in zip lock bags wrapped in a piece of newspaper to seperate them from sticking together in the freezer with them liely flat in the freezer they dont tell long to defrost than a block
