Judy they are really wonderful. You are so clever. The only arty/crafty thing I can do is embroidery which I love, and knit. I even got evicted from art in first year high school I was so hopeless.

Yes they are all Geoff's ideas and it takes him many weeks to complete the 5 needed.  I sometimes help him out at the end by sticking some of the decorations and features on for him so that he can get on with the body of the next one.  He takes over my dining room table - not a good look but what the heck, it is all for a good cause. He doesn't think they are very good but the kids love them and I think he does a great job.

Judy,  tell Geoff that these are just beautiful.  You can see just how much effort goes into them.  How does he decide what he will make?   I agree with Maddy,  they are too nice to smash up.   Make sure you take pictures of all of them. ;D ;D ;D

There are 3 girls and 2 boys Chookie so for my 2 he knows GD loves horses and I came up with the idea of a truck for the little fellow.  He is currently working on a ship for the eldest grandson of his and the girls will end up with elves or a fairy or something like that at this stage - things could change along the way though.  Yes, will certainly be posting the rest when they eventuate, the ship is not far off.

Thank you all for your lovely comments.  I got Geoff to come to my computer so that I could show him what you have all posted.  He doesn't come into 'my world' very often but certainly knows lots of your names from things I tell him.  I left him to scroll whilst I got on with tea and he now has first hand knowledge of these wonderful people I chat to every day and can see why I love the forum so much.  I'm sure the postings also gave his ego a little boost as well and that is not a bad thing.  I would love to be able to report back to him down the track that so and so made a pinata for their child/grandchild too, inspired by his work.  Thanks again guys  :-* :-*

When i was living in the U.S.A, I went to lots of parties where there were pinatas. We actually went to some that had pinatas for adults that were filled with treats like liquer filled choccies, mini bottles of Baileys Irish cream and all sorts of treats. So I guess there are lots of things you could fill them with. It would be really fun to fill them with xmas stocking stuffers etc. The sky is the limit, but these ones look too good to break.

These are really great - Geoff has a really great talent there!  My children would love a pinata but have only really seen them on the television ...

Judy they are really wonderful. You are so clever. The only arty/crafty thing I can do is embroidery which I love, and knit. I even got evicted from art in first year high school I was so hopeless.

I got thrown out of sewing class whilst at school but now (in my 40's) I love it.  Sewing something is often my way of relaxing and I can't wait to have my own sewing room so I can leave it all out and not have to pack it all away all the time.  I keep trying to get into quilting but have so many garments I want to make myself and the children that I never get beyond the fabric buying phase ....

He came up with the name all by himself, very apt really as they are filled with chocolates mainly.

This is what my dining room table looks like Cookie and that is after he has finished 3 of them so you can imagine how cluttered it was to begin with. I don't know too many women who could stand it for as long as I do so there is no way I would want it to be prolonged by him taking orders.  He would stress out too much anyway and just does what he wants if he feels up to it.  He is always glad when the last one is finished too.  Out of sight is a huge box of bits and pieces and he has even got stuff on the little table at the end of the kitchen (adjoining the dining room) where we have breakfast so he has cut my work area in half as well.

Thanks girls.  The eldest GC is almost 16 and the youngest just over 2 years old Faffa.  I was thinking maybe the eldest is getting a bit past it but I know yours are even older than that so guess we can't leave him out just yet.

Thanks CC, glad you have enjoyed coming along on the ride with us.  With the hot weather just hitting us now, it is a good thing they are out of the way. The kids will make up their own names and fight over which one they want, although the boys' are easily sorted out. Yes, finally I can get my dining room in order.

They have an assortment of chocolates this year CC.  I got some lovely things on my trip to Hahndorf recently that you normally don't find in supermarkets and with the little ones I don't like giving them lollies.
