I have volunteered to make Lemon Butter to sell at school as part of our fund raising. Is the EDC recipe the best, and what is rhe largest quantity i can make at one time. Also how long will it keep for.
Thanks
Hally

Dunno Hally, keep an eye on the weight when you add the ingredients. I probably wouldn't go over 1.5kg just to be on the safe side. I am sure a forum jammer will come up with a very good answer tho.
I was going to make Teninas Lemon Curd (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4257.0) today which I have made before with great success.
-
I think there are better ones Hally.
Chookies Granny smith & lemon (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3493.0) is good.
MJ's (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2578.0) got good reviews.
Tenina's is great too.

Yes, you are right there CP, just reread the recipe and she says it is more like a pouring custard. Been so long since I made it. Nice though ;)

How long & what temp. do you cook this for please Denise?

I make Tenina's often - it is lovely. :)
-
Maddy, I can't remember exactly with my double when I do a single 8 min 80 deg speed 3/4. I just keep checking until I think it is thick enough.
-
Thanks everyoe, once i get delivered some lemons i will try Tennias and Bedlams, they both seem very easy. If they both taste great i will make whichever is cheaper as i am supplying all the ingredients.
Thanks
Hally :)

:) Hally, let us know.
i just got given a whole lot of lemons again.
thanks,
Robyn

I wasn't intending it as a recipe post(although it is my fav) I was just explaining that I did a double of the listed quantities.
-
Of course Obbie, still waiting for lemons.

Bally, I don't want to confuse the issue, but I make a LEMON SPREAD. It is dairy free as it has no butter in it. I usually make double and it keeps for well over a month in the fridge.
-
Chookie whats the difference between the 2.
Please could you send me your recipe
Thanks
Hally

Chookie, if you could also either PM me the recipe or pop the link in here I would appreciate it. With my DH's suspected sudden lactose intolerance developing I'm having to change my cooking totally so am starting a whole new recipe collection!
Many thanks.

I think Chookie is still travelling today girls so I have copied it for you from her blog.

I don't know the difference Hally, Chookie can explain that when she comes on.

Hally,chookies doesn't have butter.
They all last well,I think chookies would be cheaper and lest calories.
How are you going with evernote?
-
Did I hear you mention evernote?
I have it, but don't really know how to use it.

Amanda,
Just started using evernote for my recipes, love it. Good to file on the iPad. Was just using notes.
-
Thanks Bedlam, might make chookies first as its cheaper for me.
Loving evernote, adding recipes daily, i have sections, plus i have 8 weeks of winter menu plans on there now
Hally :)

Evernote is an excellent tool for meal planning. I add a 'this week' tag to my recipes I am making for the week and then write my shopping list from that. Once I've made the meal I remove that tag. So easy to use and as you said Hally, you can make up lots of menus in advance.
-
I'm still struggling with evernote. Can't work out how to have different sections i.e. tag for mains, another for desserts, baking etc. Also can't work out how to put things in it without copy/paste.
I'm a bit slow sometimes. ;)

I dont use the tag correctly, i tag all mine thermomix, i would like to be ble to hsve 1 note book with all the recipes and then tag pasta, cakes etc, instead i have a notebook for each section

When I add a new recipe and starting a new section I just click on the 'click here to add tag...' which is just above where the font selection is. Then a new box appears in its place and I just type in what the new section (tag) will be. Alternatively Ctrl + shift + T will add a new tag. Once you have a tag you can just drag it from the menu on the side and drop anywhere on the recipe and it will add that tag. Don't know about transferring without copy and paste excepting using web clipper. You will need to download it I think. From what I've read it's addtional to evernote and not part of the program download. Hope this helps.
