Well I have had my 1 st disaster,  it tasted beautiful but turned into goop.  I cooked the apricot chicken risotto from the EDC. I did everything according to the recipe but the rice was far from cooked and doing it longer turned it into mush.  It appeared to be too much and too thick in the bowl.  I am hoping that you can help me or we won't be having risotto again

I made my usual porridge for breakfast

The Banana Bread from the EDC for morning and afternoon tea.  Had an accident with it, sometime my hands let me down,  as I was bringing it out of the oven to check if it was cooked,  I dropped it on its side,  definitely not fully cooked as the Centre began pouring out.  I had lined the tin with baking paper,  turned the cake upright and let the mixture run back onto the cake and put it back into the oven.  It doesn't look very good but tastes delicious.

Made Potato and Leek soup from the EDC for lunch,  couldn't manage bread as I was too tired.

Cooked Honey Mustard Chicken for dinner.

Very proud of myself as that is the most cooking in one day that I have managed for a very long time :)

As the recipe is not in the New EDC are you able to post it? I love rock cakes but haven't made them for years.

Breakfast / One serve porridge
« on: June 28, 2014, 12:09:15 am »
Having seen a post for a single serve of porridge steamed in the veroma, I decided to try it.  I normally cook it in a saucepan and add the want really a recipe in the post I saw,  I decided to use my usual recipe

1/3 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup full cream milk
1/3 cup water
pinch of salt

Place all ingredients in a bowl that will fit on the veroma tray with the lid on

Pour 1 litre boiling water into thermomix bowl,  place varoma on top

Veroma, speed 2, 15 mins

Was lovely and creamy

So nice not to wash up a saucepan,
