You will love it....(another uk resident, from Sheffield!)We all have the odd disaster, but I use mine almost every day in winter for soup, and in summer I use it as my range cooker is switched off....you were very brave to try scramled eggs!I have the same problem with porridge!

mmmm will try the cauli and bacon soup! we have a range (on all the time) cooker,so in summer its off all the time! Thermi has done sterling work then as well! (we are on a farm, and the range keeps the kitchen warm...and dry in this weather!).

Yes its a lot of money!!!! Im in Sheffield, and I had two demos, a year apart, before I could justify it! However, it has been worth its weight in gold. I wish I had had it when I was working! Everything is so quick, and so much better. I hadn't realised how bad my sauces were before! We also have a range cooker, and have it switched off in the summer, and we can manage very nicely with thermi! I do make soups, if I buy two for one starwberries and the 2nd lot will go off before we eat them, I wizz up a jar of jam.Bread is really easy (given the breadmaker to my sister). My one downside is that the British sellers dont seem to be as proactive as in Australia...its hard to find them, and head office dont seem very enthusiastic...untill you meet them in real life...if anything, they undersell! And this site is brilliant! start copying down recipes now, particularly bafs chicken, and nay nays scones....

I have had my thermie 8 months now, and can safely say that it has been worth every penny and has transformed my cooking, as well as given me loads of time back.it puzzles me why isnt popular in th U.K.. It cant just be cost, although that must be a big consideration, as I know loads of people with top of the range coffee makers, a kitchen aid with all the bits, posh tvs etc Do people not cook from scratch here as much as in Australia? Is it the advertising? Is it this forum? I would love more people over here to know about it!

we have only had one year when we managed to ripen them, because we are fairly high up.......we just had our first frost yesterday, and we still have a greenhouse full of green tomatoes, so chutney may be in order.

its a doves farm one (U.K.)...........ive also tried using something called xanthan gum, but it seems to make no difference, and since it sounds 'dodgy', Ive given up using it.I use their rice flour for cookies, as the slightly gritty texture seems to suit them more.

welcome! you will indeed use thermy at least once a day, I even use it for porridge, and I swore Id never forsake the microwave for that! I am making so much more.....the indian cookery book in the uk is wonderful, and we dont go to the takeaway at all now! I have even had a go at gluten free 'kfc' which actually tastes very similar to the real thing, according to my daughter. You will not look back!

She did the pasta swirl last night!!!!!!! I didnt know that there was a way of serving pasta that wasnt just plonking on a plate! Also did a chicken thing that looked nice. Looked on ebay for magazines, cost from Australia with postage £28.95!!!! The homeware looks similar to that on the Martha Stewart website, the green milk glass, and the plates. Nice though! However since she is launching over here, it wont be long until everything is available in uk.

Said to be the new nigella...........is she worth me setting the record button for tonight? Family wont watch a cookery show in the evening, unless its hugh fearnly- Whittingstall (they call him hugh hardly -edible in our house, because of the bizzarre ingredients he cooks with!) The pictures of the food on the trailers look lovely!
