yum, I was searching for a recipe for hot cross buns and found this one. I tried the EDC recipe a couple of years ago and perhaps I did something wrong, but it wasn't an experience I want to repeat. Not sure exactly what the difference is here, but I'm about to give these a go.

Hi Jamberi. You're welcome! I've gotten to the point where I have slight withdrawal symptoms if I don't drink at least one green smoothie a day. I love Chia seeds in it, they're a great source of fiber and omega-3.

Yes, it has been a while chdv, nice to see you back browsing and commenting. Your life must be very busy.
Hi Judydawn, yep, it's pretty hectic (slight understatement, btw). No one should go back and do a PhD at 50... I've just spent 2012 doing experiments that we thought would take a few months to do. Plus, there's been a commute involved. The instruments and one of my advisors are located in Basel, about 50 minutes by car or 1.5 h by train from where I live. But the experiments are more or less done now, and now I should finish writing a couple of papers, and then throw a thesis together. I'll start back at full speed next week, it was great to have a break over Xmas-New Year. ok... I'm off to make dinner. I saw this link the other day: http://clevercook.net.au/2012/12/30/miracle-flatbread/, and was inspired to start cooking the pork in the slow cooker this morning, guacamole is done, so now all I need to do is make the tortillas and the salsa. I'm also a green smoothie convert! I usually make enough for a glass to drink in the morning and for my 750 ml Thermos. By mid-afternoon I'm dying to have some, and it keeps me going until dinner. I also add seeds, such as chia and linseeds, sometimes hemp seeds. One of my favorite combinations is pineapple, ginger, baby spinach, couple of dates, ice and coconut (coconut oil is great, just add a spoonful). I have some photos here: http://dvfood.blogspot.ch/2012/10/green-smoothies.htmlI actually haven't been on this board for ages, as life has been too busy. But now I'm trying to write up (a thesis), at home, so when it's not flowing, I'm looking for distractions....... Cheryl https://www.facebook.com/cheryldevalliere.thermomix

I haven't been on this board for ages and just thought I'd pop over to take a look at what was going on. This was one of the posts that came up at the top of the page.
Just wanted to say to Fiona, I love your website and I'm heading over to "like" your FB page!

Tenina, I love your new cook book! Can't wait to start cooking. I need to go a stock up our fridge and pantry now, a 2 weeks in the mountains both are looking rather bare. chicken stock paste and malt powder are high on my list.
Frozzie and conish cream, what have you made?

Got mine and it on its way... Painful wait and i am really really looking forward to this one!!
Chdv and cc let me know when you get your copies... Hopefully they will all arrive around the same time.. Hrrmm swiss post vs french vs uk lol
Frozzie, I'm up in the mountains until the end of this week. I'm optimistic that both books (Dinner Spinner and FFS) will be there when I get home. The Swiss Postal service (PPT) is usually quite efficient. I'll let you know Cheryl

CHDV, from reports, I think the English basic book is better than the Aussie one. Look up the reviews on here for Altce's book and Tenina's. Both are great.
thanks achookwoman, I ordered dinner spinner and For Food's Sake a few weeks ago. I'm hoping that the Swiss PTT will live up to it's usual degree of efficiency and deliver both books just when I'm back home from vacation next week! there are quite a few recipes in the aussie EDC book that I like, but I think I'll order the English one, (providing the postage isn't more than the price of the book. I wish all these cookbooks were on Kindle!) Cheryl

I'm sitting inside catching up on reading some of the threads.
Wow, Maddy, great photos. Makes me want to make some Mexican for dinner tonight!
